Assembled Shafts at Grips4Less

Driver & Fairway Shafts, Built to Order

Buying a shaft usually means two separate jobs: picking the shaft, then getting it tipped, cut and installed with the right adapter for your driver or fairway wood. This collection does both in one order — pick a brand and model, pick your adapter, pick your flex, length and grip, and it arrives ready to swing.

This is a build-to-order collection: each shaft is assembled specifically for the order, not pulled pre-built off a shelf, which is why you can mix any supported shaft with any supported adapter rather than being limited to a handful of pre-configured combos.

Step 1

Pick Your Shaft

Choose from Fujikura, Project X, Mitsubishi, Graphite Design, UST, KBS, Aldila and more.

Step 2

Pick Your Adapter

Callaway, Cobra, Ping, Mizuno, TaylorMade or Titleist — matched to your driver or fairway wood head.

Step 3

Pick Flex, Length & Grip

Built to order and cut to your playing length, so it arrives ready to install — no separate clubmaker trip required.

Who This Is For

Golfers Upgrading a Stock Shaft

No tipping or cutting tools required — every build arrives ready to install in your existing clubhead.

Golfers Switching Driver Brands

Because every build starts from your chosen adapter, the shaft comes ready for your new head, not your old one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding Assembled Shafts

What does "assembled driver shaft with adapter tip installed" mean?

It means the adapter tip, the metal sleeve that connects your shaft to the hosel of your driver or fairway wood, has already been epoxied onto the shaft and cured before shipping. You don't need any tools, epoxy, or club-building experience. Simply slide the assembled shaft into your clubhead and tighten with your club's wrench.

Is it cheaper to buy an assembled shaft or have a pro shop install one?

Buying assembled from us is almost always the more affordable option. Pro shops typically charge $20–$50 or more in labor to install an adapter tip, on top of the shaft cost. Our built-to-order price includes the adapter, assembly, + free US shipping - no labor upcharge, no driving required (except on the course)

Can I get an assembled fairway wood shaft, not just a driver shaft?

Yes. All shafts in this collection can be assembled for 3-wood, 5-wood, 7-wood, and other fairway wood heads. Select your club type and fairway wood adapter model when adding to cart. Note that fairway wood adapter tips and driver adapter tips are usually different parts. Make sure to choose the correct club type for your build.

Compatibility & Adapter Selection

Which driver brands are these adapters compatible with?

We assemble shafts with adapters for TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Ping, Cobra, Mizuno, PXG, and Wilson drivers and fairway woods. Select your brand, along with the specific model, when adding a shaft to your cart. If you're unsure which adapter fits your head, text our team at (408) 475-7570 before ordering so we can help.

What flex and weight should I choose for my driver shaft?

As a general starting point: swing speeds under 85 mph typically pair well with Regular or Senior flex; 85–95 mph with Stiff; 95–105+ mph with X-Stiff or Tour X. Shaft weight (40g–80g) also affects feel and tempo. That said, flex and weight work together and the best fit depends on your actual swing data. Text our shaft experts at (408) 475-7570 and we can walk you through the options based on your game and swing profile.

Ordering & Build Specifications

What length should I order?

Our shafts are measured from the bottom of the adapter tip to the end of the grip cap (think "end to end"). This is NOT the same as your final playing length. Your final playing length will be roughly 0.75"–1" shorter depending on your clubhead's hosel depth. A typical driver is built to 45"–45.75" playing length, which usually corresponds to a 46"–46.5" tip-to-grip order length. To find this length, we recommend measuring your current shaft length using these steps. If you're unsure how to do this, text us your current club brand and model and we'll guide you on choosing the right shaft length.

Can I return or cancel an assembled shaft?

Because every shaft is built-to-order to your exact specifications, assembled shafts cannot be returned or canceled once the build has begun. We strongly encourage you to contact us before ordering if you have any questions about fit, length, flex, or adapter compatibility. Our team is here to help you get it right the first time.

Shipping & Turnaround

How long does assembly and shipping take?

Most assembled shafts ship within 3–5 business days. Rush build and express shipping options are available at checkout if you need it faster. All assembled shafts ship free within the US. If you have a hard deadline, a tournament or trip coming up — email us at help@grips4less.com after placing your order and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Do assembled shafts qualify for free shipping?

Yes — every assembled driver and fairway shaft ships free within the United States, regardless of which shaft or adapter you choose. Rush build and expedited delivery options are available at checkout for an additional fee if you need it by a specific date.
