Shaft adapter questions
Are golf shaft adapters universal?
No. Each club maker uses its own adapter, and some change it between generations. A TaylorMade adapter only fits TaylorMade clubs, so match the adapter to your brand and model in the chart above.
Will my old shaft fit my new driver?
Yes, when both clubs take the same adapter. Titleist drivers share one back to the 910, PING’s G410 to G440 drivers share one, and our TaylorMade driver adapter fits models back to 2013. PING, Cobra, Srixon and Callaway have each changed theirs at least once, so check both clubs in the chart.
Does a driver adapter fit a fairway wood?
Sometimes. TaylorMade and Cobra use one adapter for drivers and fairway woods. Titleist, Callaway, PING and Mizuno fairway woods take their own. Hybrids always take a separate adapter.
What tip size do adapters take?
Driver and fairway wood adapters take a .335 inch tip. Hybrid adapters take .370 inch. Two exceptions: Titleist builds the GT1 hybrid with a .335 tip, and the PING iCrossover takes a .355 taper or .370 tip.
Are your adapters made by the club makers?
No. They’re compatible sleeves made to fit each maker’s hosel and settings. Every assembled shaft we build carries our 1-year workmanship warranty. How assembled shafts work.
Will a new adapter change my club’s settings?
No. Your club keeps all of its settings. Turn the new sleeve to the setting you play now, like STD or A1, and tighten it with your club’s own wrench.
Do you build left-handed adapters?
Yes, for most models. Pick Left in the chart to see what we build for your club.
My club has no adapter. Can I still change the shaft?
Yes. A bonded hosel is glued, so we reshaft the club itself. Send it in with a Retrofit, $25 a club.
Which adapter does a mini driver take?
It depends on the brand. TaylorMade minis take the driver adapter. Titleist’s GT280 and GTS300 take the fairway adapter. The Cobra KING TEC Mini takes the FutureFit33 adapter.
How do I find my model?
