Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • do i need a shat extestion

If you are looking to play with a longer putter, you may need to extend the length with an extension.

  • Does this grip have a flat side that locks against your fore arm.

No, the sides of the grips are not considered fully flat. You can see the profile of the grip on this page, by swiping to the last picture.

  • If I have a 560 shaft would it fit?

    Dear Brant,

Thank you for your follow-up question!

The JumboMax JMX ArmLock 21" Putter Grip has a core size of .580" (0.580 inches) Round.

If you have a shaft with a .560" butt diameter, installing a grip with a larger core size like.580" onto it would result in a loose fit. This means the grip would not sit snugly on the shaft as intended for a standard installation.

To make it work, you would typically need to either:

    • Stretch the grip down the shaft during installation to make it fit more tightly.

    • Add build-up tape to the shaft to increase its diameter to better match the grip's core size.

While it's possible to install it with these adjustments, for the best feel and secure fit, we generally recommend matching the grip's core size as closely as possible to the shaft's butt diameter. We always advise professional installation for any grip, especially when dealing with slight mismatches, to ensure proper adhesion and performance.

    Hope this helps!

  • What’s the difference between pistol and round? And how big of a shaft do u need?

    Dear Brant,

Thank you for your question about the JumboMax JMX ArmLock 21" Putter Grip!

Let's break down the differences between pistol and round grips, and then discuss the shaft size you'll need for this specific grip.

    Pistol vs. Round Putter Grips

The terms "pistol" and "round" refer to the shape of the grip, particularly how they feel in your hands and influence your putting stroke:

    • Pistol Grips: These grips are characterized by a non-circular cross-section, often with a "shelf" or larger area at the top (butt end) where your upper hand rests. This design is intended to help "lock in" your top hand, promoting consistent hand placement and potentially reducing wrist break during the stroke. They are considered a "somewhat traditional" shape and can offer more control over wrist action, which some golfers find leads to more consistent results on the green. The JumboMax JMX ArmLock 21" grip itself has a pistol shape.

    • Round Grips: As the name suggests, these grips have a uniform, circular cross-section along their length. They offer a consistent feel for both hands and allow for more flexibility in hand placement and grip style. Some golfers prefer round grips for their simplicity and the ability to orient the grip freely.

For the JumboMax JMX ArmLock 21" Putter Grip, it specifically features a pistol shape. This design is intended to help eliminate wrist break by allowing you to easily lock the putter shaft against your forearm, promoting a tension-free ArmLock stroke. It also has an oval-shaped bottom and sides designed to conform to your fingers.

    Shaft Size Needed

The JumboMax JMX ArmLock 21" Putter Grip is designed to fit most standard putter shafts. It has a core size of .580" (0.580 inches) Round.

This means you will need a putter shaft with a .580" butt diameter for a standard fit. While many putter shafts are.370" or.355" at the tip, the grip core size refers to the diameter of the shaft at the butt end (where the grip is installed).

We hope this helps clarify the differences and ensures you get the right fit for your putter!
