Grips4Less builds every retrofit in our own shop. This page explains what our warranty covers, what it does not, and how component failures are handled.
1. Our workmanship warranty
Grips4Less warrants that retrofit work performed by our club-building team will be completed according to accepted professional club-building practices and the specifications confirmed on your order.
If a problem is determined to have resulted from our workmanship, we will correct it at no charge to you.
This warranty lasts 90 days from the date your clubs are delivered back to you.
Examples of workmanship issues we cover:
- Improper shaft or adapter installation
- A loose clubhead, adapter or ferrule caused by assembly
- The incorrect shaft, grip or component installed
- A build that does not match the specification confirmed on your order
- Grip installation issues
- Other assembly errors verified to have originated in our shop
2. Manufacturer defects
Shafts, grips, adapters and other new components may also carry their own manufacturer warranty. A component failure is not automatically a Grips4Less workmanship issue.
When a component fails, we will:
- Review the club and any photographs provided
- Determine whether the issue appears related to installation, manufacturing, impact, misuse or another cause
- Submit the claim to the manufacturer where appropriate
- Follow the manufacturer's warranty determination and remedy
Manufacturer warranty approval is ultimately subject to that manufacturer's own policies.
3. Shaft breakage
A broken shaft does not by itself establish whether the shaft was defective or improperly installed. We are happy to submit a warranty claim to the manufacturer on your behalf, and we will do our best to assist.
What we need from you
To open a shaft-breakage claim, please send us all of the following:
- A description of how the break occurred, and approximately how long the club had been used
- A clear photo of the entire club and shaft, with the shaft logo visible
- Close-up photos of the break from several angles
- A photo of the butt end showing any identification or serial code
- A photo of the hosel, ferrule or adapter area, and the remaining shaft tip if available
- The clubhead make and model
- Who installed the shaft — our team, yourself, a local club builder, or another shop
Important
Please keep all broken pieces. Do not discard or modify them. If the claim is eligible for warranty consideration, the manufacturer may require the shaft to be returned for final inspection.
If the shaft was not installed by our club-building team, we will also need to document the installation so the manufacturer can determine whether the failure relates to the shaft or to the installation.
How the claim is decided
If Grips4Less performed the installation and our workmanship is determined to have caused the failure, we will correct the problem.
If the failure is determined to be a manufacturing issue, we will assist you with the manufacturer's warranty process.
Damage caused by impact, abuse, misuse, alteration, or work performed after our retrofit is not covered.
4. Work performed after delivery
Our workmanship warranty ends for the affected component if the club is subsequently:
- Reshafted
- Re-tipped
- Pulled
- Re-epoxied
- Cut or extended
- Modified at the hosel or adapter
- Otherwise disassembled or altered by another party
Once another shop changes the assembly, it becomes very difficult to determine the cause of a later problem.
5. Warranty remedy
When Grips4Less confirms a workmanship issue, our first responsibility is to make the build correct.
Depending on the situation, the remedy may be repair, rebuild, or replacement of the affected component.
A full refund is not automatically the first remedy when the issue can reasonably be corrected.
