Iron and wedge shafts
Iron shaft tip size chart
Search your irons or wedges to see which shaft tip fits: .355 taper or .370 parallel. 1,382 models from 23 brands.
Taper tip or parallel tip
The tip is the end of the shaft that goes into the clubhead. Your head’s hosel is bored for one size, and the shaft has to match it.
.355
Taper tip
Made for one iron: a 5-iron shaft, a 6-iron shaft and so on. Only the butt end is cut to your length.
.370
Parallel tip
One shaft for every iron. The tip is trimmed for each club, then the butt is cut to your length.
- A .370 shaft won’t fit a .355 hosel. It’s too wide to go in.
- A .355 shaft in a .370 hosel needs a shim. We match the tip size exactly instead, with no shims.
- Utility and driving irons often differ. Many take .370 even when the rest of the set takes .355, so check each one.
What each brand uses
Irons from 2015 on, by model. Some brands use one tip on almost every iron. Others change it from model to model, so always check yours.

“Ask us” means we don’t have a confirmed tip for that model yet, or it came in two sizes. We confirm it with you before you order.
Not on the list?
Three quick ways to find your tip size.
- Check the shaft label
Some shafts print it, like “Taper” for a taper tip or “Parallel” for a parallel tip.
- Look up the stock shaft
Find the shaft model on the club maker’s spec page, then look up that shaft’s tip size.
- Ask us
Send us the brand, model and year. We’ll confirm the tip before you order, so nothing gets shipped twice.
Retrofit
We can reshaft your irons
Send us your clubs. Our build team installs the shafts you pick, matched to your heads’ tip size, and sends them back ready to play.
- $25
- per club for the install
- 1 to 3
- business days after your clubs arrive
- Free
- grip install, you only pay for the grips
Round-trip shipping is picked at checkout: Ground $35, 2-Day $59 or Overnight $129. We email you the label to send your clubs in.
Tip size FAQ
What is the difference between .355 and .370 iron shafts?
It’s the diameter of the shaft tip. A .355 taper tip narrows to .355 of an inch at the end and is made for one iron. A .370 parallel tip stays .370 all the way and gets trimmed at the tip for each iron. Your clubhead’s hosel takes one or the other.
How do I know what tip size my irons are?
Search your model at the top of this page. If it isn’t listed, check the shaft label or the club maker’s specs for the stock shaft, or ask us and we’ll confirm it before you order.
Can I put a .370 shaft in a .355 hosel?
No. A .370 shaft is wider than a .355 hosel, so it won’t go in.
Can I put a .355 shaft in a .370 hosel?
Only with a shim to fill the gap. We don’t install shims, so we always match the shaft’s tip to your hosel.
What tip size are Titleist irons?
Titleist irons take a .355 taper tip. The exceptions on our list are the 2025 T250 U and U505 utility irons and the 1996 DCI Oversize, which take a .370 parallel tip.
Are Ping irons .355 or .370?
Most Ping irons take a .355 taper tip. The G425 Crossover and iCrossover utility take .370. We confirm Ping’s recent models, like the G440, G730 and i240, with you before you order.
What tip size are PXG irons?
Every PXG iron on our list with a confirmed size takes a .370 parallel tip. We confirm the GEN8 models, the driving irons and the Wildcat with you before you order.
Do taper tip shafts need to be trimmed?
Not at the tip. Taper tip shafts come in set lengths for each iron, so only the butt end is cut to your playing length. Parallel tip shafts are trimmed at the tip for each iron first. More on how taper tip shaft lengths work.
Do wedges use the same tip sizes?
Yes, wedges take a .355 or .370 tip too. Most wedges on our list take a .355 taper tip (250 of the 289 with a confirmed size), so check your model.
Why does my model say “Ask us”?
We only list a tip size when our sources agree. If a model came in two versions, is brand new, or uses an unusual tip, we confirm it with you before you order so your shafts fit the first time.
Still not sure? Ask Griffin or our team
Tell us your irons and we’ll confirm the tip and the shafts that fit.
