Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want a higher flight without much extra spin
- Swing from about 71 to 110+ mph (Graphite Design fits R2 from 71 mph and TX above 110)
- Like a firm handle and middle with a bit more give in the tip
- Want to change weight, from 47 to 83 g, and keep the same flight
Not the right fit if you...
- Want a low launch (Graphite Design rates the Tour AD VF low to mid)
- Want the lowest spin in the Tour AD line (the VF and FI are rated low spin)
- Swing under 71 mph
How It Plays
Graphite Design gives every CQ build the same profile: firm butt, firm mid, medium+ tip, a low/mid kick point, mid/high launch and mid spin. Moving from the CQ-4 to the CQ-8 changes weight and torque, not the flight.
The butt section uses Nitta 2G-Namd, a carbon nanotube-based material that Graphite Design says binds the fibers more tightly than standard carbon, for better energy transfer and a more solid feel.
Like the rest of the Tour AD line, the CQ is designed and made at Graphite Design's factory in Japan. It's finished in black with gold and red accents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
I'm looking at the Titleist adapter option for this CQ shaft. I switch between a TSR2 driver and a slightly older TSi3 head depending on how I'm hitting it. Will this same adapter fit into both of those heads perfectly, or did Titleist change the tip design between those generations? Just want to double-check before spending $380
Yes, the shaft will fit both the TSR2 and TSi3 heads, as they use the same adapter model.
-
When you guys install the adapter tip, do you align it so the shaft graphics are facing down (logo down) when the club is in the standard setting? I just prefer a clean look at address.
We build so the shaft logo is facing down if you don't select FLO PLANE. If you do, then the logo could be facing any direction, because the FLO Plane will determine the spine alignment of the shaft.
