WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Fujikura Speeder NX Green is the Speeder NX whose flight comes down as the weight goes up. In the 40 series it launches mid-high with mid spin, the 50 and 60 move to a mid launch with low-mid spin, and the 70 drops to a low-mid launch with low spin. The twisting stiffness is tuned section by section along the shaft, so it loads like a Speeder without feeling loose. You pick from 12 weight and flex options, 40 R2 to 70 X, and it arrives with your adapter tip and grip installed, cut to length, ready to screw into your driver or fairway wood.

This is the earlier Speeder NX
- What's current. Fujikura's Speeder NX lineup today is the NX Gold and the NX Violet. The NX Green is the generation before them, and it's no longer on Fujikura's current spec chart. The specs below are the ones we've published for it since we started building it.
- What changed. The assembled NX Gold is the current lower-flighted Speeder NX: a stiffened mid section for a mid launch and less spin. The assembled NX Violet is the higher-launching option, rated mid-high in every weight with torque tightened about 10% in the tip and butt.
- Why you'd still buy this one. You already play an NX Green and want a spare or a fairway version built the same way, or you want the Green's feel in one of the 12 options we still have. If you're starting fresh, start with the Gold.

Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want one model that covers a slow swing to a fast one: a 40 R2 at 48 g up to a 70 X at 77.5 g
- Swing somewhere around 95 to 110 mph and want a mid or low-mid flight with the spin down, from the 60 or 70 series
- Play an NX Blue and want the same family with a bit more feedback through the shaft and a flatter flight
- Have lost yardage with age and are playing a shaft that's now too heavy and too stiff to launch
Not the right fit if you...
- Want a mid-high flight in every weight, not just the 40 series. The assembled NX Violet is the current shaft that does that
- Want the current-generation version of this flight pattern. The assembled NX Gold is the current Speeder NX built for a mid launch with less spin

How It Plays
The weight sets the flight. In the 40 series you get a low bend point, mid spin and mid-high launch. The 50 and 60 series move to a mid bend point with low-mid spin and mid launch. Up in the 70, the bend point goes mid-high with low spin and low-mid launch. Torque steps down from 5.7 in the 40 to 3.0 in the 70. So on this shaft, going heavier doesn't just add stability, it changes the window the ball flies in.
Torque tuned along the shaft, not one number end to end. Variable Torque Core is the build behind every Speeder NX, and it means what it sounds like: the twisting stiffness of the core is tuned differently in different sections of the shaft instead of being set once for the whole thing. You won't see it on the chart, which only lists one torque number for each weight; the tuning is in the layup. In your hands it's a Speeder that still loads through the middle without the loose, whippy feel a lighter shaft can have.
Green next to Gold and Violet. The NX Gold is the current shaft on this side of the family, with a stiffened mid section for a mid launch and less spin. The NX Violet is the higher-launching current option, rated mid-high in every weight. So if you want this flight pattern in a current build, go Gold; if you want more height from the same family, go Violet. The Green is for golfers who already know they like it.
Before you pick your options
- Weight before flex. The 40 series is 48 to 52.5 g, the 50 is 54.5 to 57.5, the 60 is 65 to 68 and the 70 is 76 to 77.5. Our fitting guidance: the 60 S around 95 to 105 mph, the 60 X and 70 S around 100 to 110, and the 70 X above about 108. For the 40 and 50 series, contact us and we'll help you match a flex.
- The R2 is the senior flex. It's only in the 40 series, at 48 g with the highest launch rating on the page. If you're coming off a 60 g regular shaft and the ball won't get up anymore, a 40 or 50 series in R2 or R is the honest answer, not a stiffer version of what you have.
- Length is measured adapter tip to grip. The number you pick is the shaft assembly with no head on it. Choose the standard length option for your brand and you get that brand's stock playing length. For a custom length, remember the head adds roughly an inch, so a driver you want to play at 45.25" is about a 44.25" tip-to-grip build. Every half inch you take off costs about three swingweight points, so if you go shorter than stock, tell us and we can add tape under the grip or you can plan a heavier head weight.

Graphite. Raw length 46" before we cut it, parallel tip section 3.0", tip diameter 0.335" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number.
