WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The True Temper AMT Red is the lightest steel shaft in the AMT range and the one with the highest trajectory and spin. It stays light from the 4-iron to the 7-iron, then adds weight into the scoring clubs. True Temper rates it high launch, high spin for a moderate tempo. This listing is the 0.355" taper-tip version, sold one shaft per iron (4-iron to pitching wedge) in Regular and Stiff.
Before you order: each shaft is made for one iron, so order one per club. See How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work.
Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want the most launch and speed in the AMT family
- Want light long and mid irons, 94 to 95 g through the 7-iron
- Like a little more weight and control in the 8-iron to wedge
- Have irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel and want a shaft made for each iron
Not the right fit if you...
- Want a mid flight for a smoother, deliberate tempo: True Temper rates the AMT Black mid launch, mid spin
- Want a heavier, lower-flying AMT: the AMT White is rated low launch and low spin
- Swing with a fast, aggressive tempo: take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz to find a better match
How It Plays
Light where speed matters. AMT Red keeps the 4-iron to 7-iron at one superlight weight (94 g in Regular, 95 g in Stiff) and uses a responsive tip to push speed and launch.
Heavier where control matters. From the 8-iron down, Ascending Mass Technology adds weight club by club, so the scoring clubs feel steadier. The pitching wedge shaft weighs 106 g in Regular and 107 g in Stiff.
High and spinning. True Temper rates AMT Red high on trajectory and high on spin, with low torque, for a moderate tempo.

Will It Fit Your Irons?
This shaft is for irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel. Order one shaft for each iron you are reshafting and pick the iron number in the dropdown: True Temper makes each AMT shaft for its iron, at its own weight, so a 7-iron shaft is not meant to go in your 5-iron.
Not sure which tip your irons take, or how long each shaft should be? Read How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work, take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz, or let us install them with our Retrofit Service.

I am replacing the shaft in my Nike Slingshot O.O.S. #3 iron and this shaft was the best replacement as per Google AI. Would the #4 iron shaft work in my #3 iron?
Hi Anthony,
I would not recommend using the #4 AMT Red shaft in your Nike Slingshot OSS 3-iron.
I checked the original Nike specifications, and the Slingshot OSS irons were built with a .370" parallel-tip shaft. The original True Temper Speed Step Light Constant Weight steel shaft was approximately 108g. The 2025 AMT Red you are looking at is a .355" taper-tip shaft, so it is not a direct fit for your iron.
So the issue is actually more than just using a #4 shaft in a #3 iron.
If your goal is to stay reasonably close to the original setup, I would look at a .370 parallel-tip steel shaft around the 105–110g range. One option we carry is the KBS Max 80 .370, which is actually about 111g raw and can be properly trimmed for a 3-iron.
I would go that direction rather than trying to make the AMT Red #4 shaft work.
Thanks,
Jimgrips4less
