WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Nippon N.S.PRO MODUS3 Hybrid is Nippon's hybrid shaft built with its Graphite On Steel Technology, made for hybrids and driving irons. Nippon bonds an ultralight steel shaft and thin graphite layers with a patented adhesive process, and says the result gives a higher trajectory and tighter dispersion with steel's feel and spin control. It comes in S, Tour S, X and Tour X. This is the uncut shaft: 41" raw length with a 0.370" tip, from 91 g to 112 g.

Want it ready to play? Get it assembled

This listing is the uncut shaft only. Order the assembled Modus3 Hybrid and we build it to your specs, ready to plug into your hybrid:

  • Your adapter tip installed: Callaway, Cobra, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson, with your loft and lie setting

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Play Modus3 steel in your irons and want a hybrid shaft from the same family
  • Are a club builder or DIY builder who needs an uncut shaft to tip and cut yourself
  • Want steel feel and spin control with some of graphite's flex
  • Want a heavier hybrid shaft: 91 g up to 112 g in Tour X

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want to screw it straight into an adjustable hybrid head: get the assembled version with the adapter installed
  • Want a light hybrid shaft: Nippon's Zelos 7 Hybrid weighs 81 to 85.5 g
  • Aren't sure which flex fits: read the Nippon Shaft Guide or take the 2-Minute Shaft Quiz

How It Plays

Nippon says steel and graphite hybrid shafts each have strengths and weaknesses, so it bonded the two. The steel resists twisting for directional stability, and multiple thin graphite layers balance weight and stiffness while keeping a solid feel. Nippon says the thin overall structure also helps spin control.

Four flexes, three weights. The S and Tour S weigh 91 g with 2.8° torque, the X 101 g with 2.5° and the Tour X 112 g with 2.3°. Nippon publishes no launch or spin rating for this shaft.
