WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The KBS Generation is KBS's iron shaft for younger players with lower swing speeds. KBS based it on the same EI curve as the KBS MAX to help juniors launch the ball higher while adding spin and accuracy. This listing is the 0.370" parallel-tip chrome steel version in R2 (90 g) or R/S (95 g) flex: one 38" length you trim for each iron.

Before you order: KBS's parallel shaft is a single length that is tip and butt trimmed to fit, and trimming can change how it plays. A 3-iron to PW set takes 8 shafts.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Are fitting a junior golfer who needs help getting the ball in the air
  • Want a light steel shaft for a young player's irons
  • Are building junior irons with 0.370" parallel-tip hosels
  • Want R2 for the youngest players or R/S as they get stronger

Not the right fit if you...

How It Plays

Built for juniors. KBS designed the Generation for the younger generation of players, who swing slower than adults and need help with height.

MAX bend curve. KBS based it on the same EI curve as the KBS MAX, so a young player gets a higher launch with added spin and accuracy.

Junior sizing. Our figures list the R2 at 90 g and the R/S at 95 g, both 38" raw. KBS gives it a 0.560" butt (smaller than an adult shaft's) and a chrome finish.

Specifications

Weight and raw length for each flex we sell are our figures.

Series Flex Weight (g) Raw Length Clubs (KBS)
Generation 0.370" R2 90 38" 3i to PW
Generation 0.370" R/S 95 38" 3i to PW

Material: steel, chrome finish | Tip: 0.370" parallel | Butt diameter: 0.560" | KBS describes a higher launch with added spin and gives no torque, spin or bend point figures | Source for butt, finish, clubs and flight: KBS official Generation specs, checked October 2026

Will It Fit Your Irons?

This shaft is for irons with a 0.370" parallel-tip hosel. KBS makes it as a single length: each shaft is tip trimmed and butt trimmed for the iron it goes in, so order one per club (8 for a 3-iron to PW set). See the KBS parallel tip trimming instructions before cutting, since trimming can change how the shaft plays.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the KBS Generation 0.370" weigh?

Our figures list the R2 at 90 g and the R/S at 95 g, both as 38" raw shafts. Each shaft gets lighter as it is cut to length.

R2 or R/S?

KBS publishes no swing-speed chart for the Generation steel. R2 is the softer choice for the youngest players; R/S is a combination flex for stronger juniors. Contact us with the player's age, height and current clubs, or take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz.

0.355" or 0.370"?

It depends on the hosel of the irons. The KBS Generation Junior 0.355" is made one shaft per iron at 80 to 89 g; this 0.370" version is one length you trim for each iron.

Steel or graphite for a junior?

This Generation is steel. The KBS Generation Jr. Graphite 0.370" is much lighter graphite (40 g or 50 g) for the youngest or slowest swingers.

Why is the KBS label not on my shaft?

The official KBS label is included separately, to be put on during club assembly so it lines up the way you want. A temporary white factory SKU label may be on the shaft until then. Both are normal for genuine KBS shafts.
