WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Graphite Design Tour AD UT is a Tour AD graphite shaft made for utility and driving irons, built at Graphite Design's factory in Japan. Graphite Design rates it mid launch, mid spin with a mid kick point. We sell the 95 g version in S or X flex, for a #3, #4 or #5 iron, in orange or black, on a 0.355" taper tip. It arrives assembled with an adapter tip and grip, ready to attach to your utility or driving iron head.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want graphite in a utility or driving iron with a mid flight and mid spin
  • Play a Tour AD in your woods or hybrids and want the same family in your long irons
  • Like a heavier shaft: 98 g in S, 99 g in X
  • Have a driving iron head that takes an adapter

Not the right fit if you...

  • Need a lighter or softer flex: we build this shaft in S and X only
  • Want a lower, lower-spinning flight: Graphite Design rates the Tour AD VF UT driving iron shaft low launch, low spin
  • Aren't sure your head takes an adapter: contact us before you order

How It Plays

Graphite Design rates every Tour AD UT build mid launch, mid spin and mid kick point. The 95 g version is stiff in the butt and firm through the mid section and tip, and Graphite Design says it is made with the same technology as its Tour AD wood shafts, for modern driving iron heads.

Both flexes share 2.2 torque. The S weighs 98 g and the X 99 g. The shaft is cut to a set raw length for each iron: 39" for a #3, 38.5" for a #4 and 38" for a #5.

Specifications

Model Flex Weight (g) Torque Butt Dia. Raw Length
Tour AD UT 95 S 98 2.2 0.593 39" (#3), 38.5" (#4), 38" (#5)
Tour AD UT 95 X 99 2.2 0.593 to 0.594 39" (#3), 38.5" (#4), 38" (#5)

Tip diameter: 0.355" (taper) | Bend profile (95 g): stiff butt, firm mid, firm tip | Kick point: mid | Launch: mid | Spin: mid | Colors: orange or black | Graphite Design lists the black UT in #3; the black #4 and #5 are its Tour AD Iron 95 shaft (same 98 g S and 99 g X, 2.2 torque) | Do not tip trim; length is set at the butt | Source: Graphite Design official Tour AD Utility/Driving Iron and Tour AD Iron specs, checked October 2026

Frequently Asked Questions

Which flex should I pick?

We build the Tour AD UT in S (98 g) and X (99 g). Both share the same torque, kick point and mid launch, mid spin rating. If you're between the two, contact us with your current shaft and swing speed.

What do #3, #4 and #5 mean?

They set the raw length of the shaft: 39" for a #3, 38.5" for a #4 and 38" for a #5. Pick the one that matches the iron you are building. Graphite Design says not to tip trim this shaft; length is set at the butt.

Is the orange the same as the black?

Graphite Design gives both colors the same weight, torque and bend profile. It lists the black driving iron shaft in #3; our black #4 and #5 are its Tour AD Iron 95, which has the same 98 g S and 99 g X figures.

Will it fit my driving iron?

The shaft has a 0.355" taper tip, and some adapters need a shim to fit it. Tell us your head model when you order, or contact us first, so we match the right adapter and length.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with an adapter tip and a grip installed. Club head is not included. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.
