Will this shaft fit your irons?

Check before you buy. Takes about 20 seconds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Nippon N.S. Pro 850GH is an ultra-lightweight steel iron shaft with a dual-step design that Nippon says adds distance. It weighs 87 g (R) or 91 g (S) with a middle kick point. This listing is the 0.370" parallel-tip version, sold one shaft per iron (3-iron to wedge). Our dropdown also lists an A-flex, which Nippon does not list for the 850GH; please contact us before ordering it.

Before you order: each shaft is made for one iron, so order one per club. See How Nippon Shaft Lengths Work.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a light steel shaft around 90 g that is easy to swing hard
  • Want easy contact and a consistent direction
  • Play R or S flex and like a middle kick point
  • Have irons with a 0.370" parallel-tip hosel and want a shaft made for each iron

Not the right fit if you...

  • Play modern strong-lofted irons and want more height: the 850GH neo is tuned for them
  • Want more weight: the 950GH 0.370" is the next step up
  • Have 0.355" taper-tip irons: get the 850GH 0.355"

How It Plays

Ultra-light steel. Nippon calls the 850GH an attacking shaft: light enough for full swings, with easy contact and a consistent direction.

Dual-step design. Nippon says the dual-step construction adds distance, and that the full swings it allows help produce the trajectory you want with crisp contact.

Two flexes. R weighs 87 g with 2.1° of torque, and S weighs 91 g with 2.0°. Both have a middle kick point, a 50.3% balance point and a 0.600" butt.
