Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing fast enough for tour X flex: Mitsubishi fits the 70 TX above 106 mph
  • Want a mid flight with mid spin and low torque
  • Like an even stiffness from handle to tip
  • Want a heavier 77 g driver shaft

Not the right fit if you...

  • Need R, S or X flex: we build the Kai'li Blue in 70 TX only
  • Want a lower flight with less spin: the Kai'li White is rated low and low
  • Need more height: the Kai'li Red is rated high launch

How It Plays

Mitsubishi rates the Kai'li Blue mid launch and mid spin, with a medium butt, medium mid section and medium tip and a high kick point.

Its torque is close to the Kai'li White, but the taper butt gives it a more active feel in the hands and slightly higher launch and spin than the White. Super Low Resin Content prepreg and an MR70-reinforced tip are what Mitsubishi credits for its stability.

The 70 TX weighs 77 g with 2.7 torque and a 0.638" butt.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the 70 TX for?

Mitsubishi's fit guide places the Kai'li Blue 70 in S at 91 to 105 mph and X or TX above 106 mph, driver swing speed. Grips4Less has also described the Kai'li Blue as best suited to swing speeds between 88 and 105 mph; for the 70 TX we build, Mitsubishi's chart is the better guide. Contact us if you are unsure.

How is it different from the Kai'li Dark Waves Blue?

Both are Mitsubishi mid launch, mid spin Kai'li profiles with a taper butt and a high kick point. We build the Dark Waves Blue in more weights and flexes, while the Kai'li Blue is built in 70 TX only.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM-compatible adapter tip installed (Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson; see all shaft adapters) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I have an aggressive swing would this shaft work for me?

Depends on what "aggressive" means for your swing. The Kai'li Blue handles fast tempo well because the low-torque construction resists twisting through transition. But if aggressive also means you produce high spin or high launch, Blue may not suppress it enough. In that case Kai'li White is the better call — same stability platform, lower launch and lower spin.
