WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The KBS TGI (Tour Graphite Iron) is a graphite iron shaft that KBS designed with the same EI curve as its KBS Tour steel shaft, to give graphite a steel-like feel and control. This listing is the 0.355" taper-tip version, sold one shaft per iron in seven weights from 60 to 110 g.

Before you order: each shaft is made for one iron, so order one per club. See How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want graphite irons that play closer to steel: KBS built the TGI on the KBS Tour steel profile
  • Want to fit by weight: seven classes from 60 to 110 g, each paired with its own flex
  • Have irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel and want a shaft made for each iron

Not the right fit if you...

  • Have irons that take a 0.370" parallel tip: choose the TGI 0.370" version instead
  • Want a 50 g TGI: KBS only makes it in the 0.370" version
  • Want launch and spin ratings to choose from: KBS publishes none for the TGI. Take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz to narrow it down

How It Plays

Steel profile, graphite material. KBS designed the TGI with the same EI curve (the stiffness profile along the shaft) as its KBS Tour steel shaft. The goal is the playability and shot control of KBS steel in a graphite shaft.

Weight and flex move together. KBS tunes the weight and stiffness for each class rather than offering every flex in every weight: 60 g is Regular, 70 g Regular+, 80 g Stiff, 90 g Stiff+, 95 g Stiff++, 100 g X-Stiff and 110 g X-Stiff+. KBS says the range covers juniors and women up to tour players.

One look. Every taper-tip TGI weight comes in black matte.

Will It Fit Your Irons?

This shaft is for irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel. Order one shaft for each iron you are reshafting and pick the iron number in the dropdown: KBS makes the taper TGI for each iron from 2-iron to sand wedge, so a 7-iron shaft is not meant to go in your 5-iron. If your irons take a 0.370" parallel tip, get the TGI 0.370" version instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does each KBS TGI weigh?

The weight is in the name: KBS makes the taper TGI at 60, 70, 80, 90, 95, 100 and 110 g.

Which TGI weight should I choose?

KBS publishes no swing-speed chart for the TGI. Our fitting guidance, by 6-iron swing speed: 60 g at 70 mph or less, 70 g at 70 to 75, 80 g at 75 to 80, 90 g at 80 to 85, 95 g at 85 to 90, 100 g at 90 to 95, and 110 g at 95 mph or more. Take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz or text our team before ordering.

What is the difference between the 0.355" and 0.370" TGI?

Same TGI design, different tip. This 0.355" version is a taper-tip shaft made for one specific iron, so you order one per club. The 0.370" version is a parallel-tip shaft in one 41" length that gets trimmed to fit, and it adds a 50 g option.

Why is the KBS label not on my shaft?

KBS sprays its black finishes by hand, so you may see slight cosmetic differences from shaft to shaft. The official KBS label is included separately, to be put on during club assembly so it lines up the way you want. A temporary white factory SKU label may be on the shaft until then. All of this is normal for genuine KBS shafts.

Is the TGI graphite or steel?

Graphite. KBS gave it the same EI curve as its KBS Tour steel shaft so it plays more like steel.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Is the tip .355

Yes, the tip size is 0.355"

  • Speed for this shaft

  • i want to reshaft a '26 Callaway Xforged max with a Kbs TGI 75 Reg, what shaft tip size do i need? and what TGI shaft do you recommend to get a 75 regular spec since you dont offer it in your site?

    Hi Angelo,

For the 2026 Callaway X Forged Max, our fitment data shows a .370" parallel-tip hosel, so you would want the .370 parallel version of the KBS TGI, not the .355 taper version. Callaway also lists the stock shaft configuration as PTIP (parallel tip).

One important point: KBS does not currently make a TGI 75 Regular. In the current TGI lineup, the closest choices are:

    • TGI 70 Regular+ (.370) — closest to your desired 75g weight, but a little firmer than Regular
    • TGI 60 Regular (.370) — true Regular flex, but lighter than the 75g target
    • TGI 80 Stiff (.370) — heavier and noticeably firmer, so I would not choose this if you specifically want Regular flex.

For most players asking for something close to 75g Regular, I would lean toward the TGI 70 Regular+ because it is the closest overall match in weight and should still give you a relatively smooth graphite feel.

If you send me your current shaft, 7-iron distance, and tempo, I can tell you whether I would choose the TGI 70 R+ or the lighter TGI 60 R for your X Forged Max.

    Thanks,
    Jim

  • Would these graphite shafts be a good fit for my wedges? 50º, 56º, and 60º

    Hi Frank,

Yes, the KBS TGI Tour Graphite .355" shafts can work very well in wedges, especially if you want the lighter weight and vibration-dampening benefits of graphite while maintaining a stable, iron-like feel.

KBS actually offers the .355" TGI in dedicated PW and SW shaft lengths, so for your 50°, 56°, and 60° wedges we can select the appropriate wedge shafts and butt-trim them to final playing length.

The most important question is matching the TGI weight/flex to the shafts in your irons. TGI is available in several weight classes, from 60g up through 110g, and the weight also determines the relative flex.

    Could you tell me:

    • What shafts and flex you currently play in your irons?
    • What shaft is currently in your wedges?
    • Whether you prefer a lighter/smoother wedge feel or a heavier, more controlled feel?

Once I know that, I can recommend the specific TGI weight and which shaft designation I would use for your 50°, 56°, and 60° wedges.

    Best regards,
    Jim

  • What tip do I need for the Sim2 max irons

The TaylorMade SIM2 Max irons use a .370" parallel tip steel or graphite iron shaft.

  • I play ping I530's. would like to switch from UST graphite to KBS TGI shafts. what tip does that require?

    Hi Billy,

Thanks for reaching out to us at Grips4Less!

To reshaft your Ping i530 irons with the KBS Tour TGI graphite shafts, you will need to select the 0.355" Taper Tip option.

Ping designs virtually all of their iron lines—including the modern player's distance i530 heads—with a traditional tapered hosel footprint. The KBS TGI 0.355" Taper Tip shafts will be a perfect, seamless drop-in fit for those clubheads.

If you are assembling these yourself or taking them to a local builder, just make sure to use a standard 0.355" collared ferrule during installation. Ping hosels feature a small countersunk ledge at the very top of the hosel bore; a collared ferrule locks perfectly into that pocket, ensuring the graphite shaft stays entirely centered and protected against shearing at impact.

Please let us know if you have any other questions about dialing in the right shaft weight or flex for your game!

    Best regards,

    The Grips4Less Team

  • I'm recovering from golfer's elbow and my fitter suggested graphite iron shafts. Why would I choose KBS TGI instead of simply moving into a lightweight graphite model?

Good question. Most lightweight graphite shafts are built purely for speed, they're soft, whippy, and can feel a little too "flexy" or unstable for iron play, especially if you're used to steel. KBS TGI is different because it's designed to feel and perform more like a steel shaft, just in graphite. It's got a firmer, more stable feel through impact with better feedback, so you're not losing control or shot-shaping ability just to get the vibration dampening benefits of graphite.

For someone dealing with golfer's elbow, that combo matters. You still get the shock absorption and lighter swing weight that helps your joints, but without the ballooning flight or "dead" feel a lot of ultra-lightweight graphite shafts have. It's really built for steel players who need to switch for comfort or health reasons but don't want to sacrifice performance. TGI is a solid bridge between steel-like feel and joint-friendly weight.

  • How would I order a 4-PW bundle to be fit +1 inch in length?

yes the raw length is more than 1" over the standard length .

so you can just order them as it is

  • 60 is regular ?

    • This shaft has no specified flex. Please use the swing speed table in the Description section (What You Need to Know) to determine the optimal shaft weight.
