Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a mid flight with low spin from a heavy, stable shaft
  • Swing fast: our GP build is the GP-8 in tour X-stiff
  • Like a very stiff tip that keeps the face steady through impact
  • Are a club builder or DIY builder who needs an uncut shaft

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want a lighter Tour AD or a softer flex: the Tour AD VF runs from 46 g in R2 flex
  • Need more height: Graphite Design rates the Tour AD DI high launch
  • Want it ready to install in an adjustable driver or fairway: get the assembled Tour AD GP

How It Plays

Very stiff tip, firm mid and butt. Our spec sheet gives the GP-5 to GP-8 a very stiff tip section with a firm mid and a firm+ butt. That profile is designed to promote a mid launch with low spin, so the ball flies on a steady line rather than climbing.

Heavy and low torque. The GP-8 is the heaviest GP, about 85 g with 2.7 torque and a mid kick point. Graphite Design builds it with 50-ton carbon fiber and Toray NANOALLOY material for stability, at its factory in Japan.
