WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The UST Mamiya 65 Gold is the heavier of UST's two Gold driver and fairway shafts, with a mid-high ball flight. UST says it uses the same high modulus carbon fiber as its original Proforce models and aims it at stronger players who want more weight with a mid-high flight. This is the uncut shaft: 46" raw length, 0.335" tip, 4.0" parallel tip, in A, R or S flex at 59 to 62 g.

How It Plays

Proforce materials. UST designed the Gold wood shafts to hit the ball farther with more accuracy, using the same high modulus carbon fiber as the original Proforce shafts. UST positions the 65 as the heavier Gold model.

Mid-high launch. UST rates all three flexes mid-high launch. The A weighs 59 g with 4.0 torque and a 0.595" butt; the R and S both weigh 62 g with 3.9 torque and a 0.600" butt, so those two differ in stiffness rather than weight.
