Should my fairway wood shaft match my driver shaft?
Yes, in flex and feel. The simplest match is the same shaft model in the same flex, one weight class heavier, which is about 10 grams. Choose your driver shaft at the top of this page to see yours. Not sure of your flex? Use the golf shaft flex chart.
How heavy should a hybrid shaft be?
About 10 to 20 grams heavier than your driver shaft, in the same flex. Keep it lighter than your iron shafts.
Can I use the same shaft in my driver and fairway woods?
Yes. Our wood shafts are sold as Driver & Fairway shafts with a 0.335 inch tip. For your fairway woods, choose the same model and flex one weight class heavier.
What shaft should I put in my 7-wood?
Treat it like your other fairway woods: your driver’s shaft and flex, about one weight class heavier. For more height, choose a lighter or higher launching profile, such as Fujikura Ventus Red or Ventus White.
Which Ventus HB hybrid shaft is right for me?
We carry Ventus HB in three flights. Red launches highest with the most spin, for a higher, softer landing. Blue is mid launch and mid spin. Black is the lowest launch and spin, made for faster swings. For Ventus driver and fairway shafts, see the Fujikura Ventus shaft guide.
Where do I find my driver shaft’s weight and flex?
They’re printed on the shaft: a weight class such as 6, 60 or 65, and a flex such as R, S or X. Project X uses numbers for flex, like 6.0 for stiff. See Project X flex codes.
What tip size do fairway wood and hybrid shafts have?
Our fairway wood shafts have a 0.335 inch tip and our hybrid shafts have a 0.370 inch tip. Assembled shafts come with your club maker’s adapter installed, so the tip is already matched to your club.
What length will my assembled shaft be?
