WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Pro 95 Tour Spec is the firm-tip version of the Pro 95 graphite iron shaft, built for golfers who play stiff or extra stiff steel and want graphite that flies lower, not higher. The bend point moves up to mid-high and launch and spin both drop to low-mid, with a high-density core that gets you steel swingweights at steel length. It comes in Tour S at 96 g and Tour X at 97.5 g, as a 40.5" one-length blank with a 0.370" parallel tip and a 6.0" parallel section. Every shaft is a 2-iron-length blank that gets its own tip trim for the iron it goes in, which is also what lets a builder soft step or hard step a set. This is the raw shaft, one for each iron, nothing cut and nothing installed.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Play stiff or extra stiff steel in the 90 to 105 g range and want graphite without giving up a firm tip
  • Hit your irons high already and want the flight brought down a window with less spin
  • Have irons with a 0.370" parallel hosel, or a builder who's confirmed that's what they take
  • Only need a few clubs. For a whole set, the bundle below saves you buying them one at a time

Not the right fit if you...

  • Play regular flex, or want to keep the height you have. The standard Pro Iron is mid launch and mid spin in R2, R and S
  • Play 120 g and up steel and want graphite close to that weight. Go to the Pro 115 Tour Spec
  • Have 0.355" taper hosels. Don't sand this one down. The Axiom 0.355" taper is made for each iron and drops straight in
  • Want Fujikura's multi-material bias core in an iron shaft. Look at the Axiom 0.370"

How It Plays

The tip is the difference. Next to the standard Pro 95i S, the Tour S carries a much firmer tip and butt (42 and 40 against 52 and 47, and the lower number is the stiffer one on Fujikura's scale) with a touch less torque. That's what moves the bend point up and pulls launch and spin down. You feel it as a shaft that doesn't kick the ball up for you. If you load the club hard, that's exactly what you want.

Steel swingweights without the steel. The usual problem with graphite irons is that the finished club comes out head-light and you end up adding lead tape. The high-density core is there to fix that. Build a Tour S to your steel length and the swingweight lands where you expect, so the club still has some heft through the ball.

One blank, trimmed for each iron. Every shaft ships at 2-iron length. Your builder tip trims each one for its iron, then butt trims to playing length. Because the tip trim is what sets the stiffness, a builder can soft step a set to land you between Tour S and Tour X, or hard step it if the X isn't quite enough.

Picking a flex, and how to order

  • Tour S or Tour X. If you play stiff steel and don't fight a low ball flight, start with the Tour S. The Tour X is 1.5 g heavier with a firmer tip and butt and 2.7 torque instead of 2.8. Go there if you play X steel now or your misses with a stiff shaft start left. Neither one is a regular flex; if you need an R, you want the standard Pro 95i on the Pro Iron page.
  • Coming from 90 g steel? The Tour S is the closest match by weight. It's a few grams heavier than a 90 g steel shaft and a lot easier on your hands.
  • Order one shaft for each iron. They all arrive at the same 40.5" and each one needs its own tip trim before it's cut to length. The amount steps up as the irons get shorter, with the wedges getting the most. If your builder doesn't have Fujikura's iron trim chart, contact us with your set makeup before you cut anything.
  • 0.370" parallel only. If your irons take 0.355" taper, buy the Axiom taper and save yourself the headache. It's made for each iron and needs no sanding or shimming.

Graphite with a high-density core. Raw length 40.5", parallel tip section 6.0", tip diameter 0.370" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number.

How the Pro Iron Line Compares

Model Flexes Weights Torque Launch Spin Bend Point
Pro Iron, 65i to 95i R2, R, S 70 to 95 g 3.0 to 3.1 Mid Mid Mid
Pro 95i Tour Spec (You're here) Tour S, Tour X 96 to 97.5 g 2.7 to 2.8 Low-mid Low-mid Mid-high
Pro 115i Tour Spec Tour S, Tour X 116.5 to 117 g 2.3 to 2.5 Low-mid Low-mid Mid-high

Launch, spin, bend point and torque are Fujikura's ratings. All three share the high-density core, the 40.5" blank and the 0.370" parallel tip. The 115 is the same profile about 20 g heavier, for golfers who play heavy steel. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Reshafting the Whole Set?

Order the Pro 95 Tour Spec bundle set instead. It's the same shaft, in Tour S or Tour X, as a set of 6, 7 or 8 one-length blanks in one flex, which covers 5-iron through wedge, 4-iron through wedge or 3-iron through wedge. Need 9? Contact us and we'll quote it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to tip trim these for a 5-iron through wedge set?

Yes, every one of them. These are one-length blanks, so a 5-iron, a 9-iron and a wedge all arrive at the same 40.5" with the same 6" parallel tip. Each iron gets its own tip trim, the shorter the iron the more comes off, and then the butt is cut to your playing length. Skip the tip trim and the short irons play too soft and the set won't flow. If your builder doesn't have the Pro Iron trim chart, send us your set makeup and we'll get you the numbers.

What's the bend point on the Tour S?

Mid-high, on both the Tour S and Tour X. That's a full step up from the standard Pro 95i, which is mid, and it's the main reason the Tour Spec flies lower. A higher bend point means the shaft flexes closer to your hands and the tip stays quieter through impact.

Can I use this in my wedges too?

If your wedges have a 0.370" parallel hosel, yes, and running the same shaft through the whole set keeps the feel consistent from the 4-iron to the sand wedge. Check the hosel first, though. This shaft doesn't come in taper, so if your wedges take a 0.355" taper tip you want the Axiom 0.355" taper. Not sure what your wedges take? Contact us with the head model.

Does it come with a grip?

No. This is the bare 40.5" shaft, nothing installed and nothing cut. Grips, ferrules and tape are sold separately, and your builder will want the shaft trimmed and installed before the grip goes on anyway.
