WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Fujikura Speeder NX Blue is the original Speeder NX profile: mid-high launch in every weight, with spin that drops from mid-high in the 40 series to low-mid in the 60 and 70 as you go up in weight. The twisting stiffness is tuned section by section along the shaft, so it loads like a Speeder without feeling loose. You pick from 8 weight and flex options, 40 R to 70 X, and it arrives with your adapter tip and grip installed, cut to length, ready to screw into your driver or fairway wood.
Not sure NX Blue is your profile? Take the 2-Minute Shaft Quiz or compare every Fujikura model in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.
This is the earlier Speeder NX profile
- What's current. Fujikura's Speeder NX lineup today is the NX Violet and the NX Gold. The NX Blue is the generation before them, and it's no longer on Fujikura's current spec chart. The specs below are the ones we've published for it since we started building it.
- What changed. The assembled NX Violet keeps a bend profile similar to this one and tightens torque about 10% in the tip and butt, with R2 through X in every weight. The assembled NX Gold stiffens the mid section for a mid launch and less spin.
- Why you'd still buy this one. You already play an NX Blue and want a second one, a fairway version or a spare built the same way. If you're starting fresh, start with the Violet.

Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want a smoother, more active feel through the middle of the shaft than a Ventus Blue gives you, with a little more kick and a slightly higher launch
- Like a lighter shaft: the 40 series is 47 to 50 g
- Want to bring spin down by going heavier rather than stiffer, while keeping the same mid-high launch
- Already play an NX Blue and want a second one built to the same specs, ready on arrival
Not the right fit if you...
- Want a lower, flatter flight. The assembled NX Gold is rated mid launch and low-mid spin from the 50 series up
- Want the current version of this profile, or a flex we don't build here. The assembled NX Violet runs R2 through X in every weight
- Swing fast with an aggressive transition and want dispersion ahead of feel. The assembled Ventus Blue VeloCore+ is the stiffer, stability-first shaft
- Build your own clubs and just want the raw shaft. Grab the uncut NX Blue and save the build time
How It Plays
Mid-high launch, and the weight sets the spin. Every NX Blue build is rated mid-high launch. What changes as you go up in weight is spin and bend point: the 40 series has a low bend point with mid-high spin, the 50 moves to a mid bend point and mid spin, and the 60 and 70 hold the mid bend point and drop to low-mid spin. Torque follows the same path, from 5.4 in the 40 to 2.9 in the 70, so the heavier builds feel noticeably tighter.
NX Blue against Ventus Blue. This is the question we get on this page, and the difference is in the load. The NX Blue feels smoother and more active through the middle of the shaft, with a bit more kick and a slightly higher launch. The Ventus Blue is built for maximum stability, with a stiffer overall feel that keeps dispersion tight for faster, more aggressive swings. If you've found the Ventus a bit dead in your hands, this is the other direction.
Torque tuned along the shaft, not one number end to end. Variable Torque Core is the build behind every Speeder NX, and it means what it sounds like: the twisting stiffness of the core is tuned differently in different sections of the shaft instead of being set once for the whole thing. You won't see it on the chart, which only lists one torque number for each weight; the tuning is in the layup. In your hands it's a Speeder that still loads through the middle without the loose, whippy feel a lighter shaft can have.
Before you pick your options
- Weight before flex. The 40 series is 47 to 50 g, the 50 is 54.5 to 56, the 60 is 62 to 65 and the 70 X is 74.5. If your current driver shaft is in the 60s, start with the 60 S or 60 X. When you want more stability, go up a series before you go up a flex.
- Check that your combination is on the list. We build 8 options: R and S in the 40, S and X in the 50, SR, S and X in the 60, and X only in the 70. If the weight and flex you want isn't here, the NX Violet has R2 through X in every weight.
- Length is measured adapter tip to grip. The number you pick is the shaft assembly with no head on it. Choose the standard length option for your brand and you get that brand's stock playing length. For a custom length, remember the head adds roughly an inch, so a driver you want to play at 45.25" is about a 44.25" tip-to-grip build. Every half inch you take off costs about three swingweight points, so if you go shorter than stock, tell us and we can add tape under the grip or you can plan a heavier head weight.

Graphite. Raw length 46" before we cut it, parallel tip section 3.0", tip diameter 0.335" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number.
Specs carried from our previous listing; Fujikura's current chart covers NX Gold and NX Violet.

Launch, spin, bend point and torque are Fujikura's ratings, shown by weight series. The NX Gold and NX Violet rows come from Fujikura's current chart. The NX Blue and NX Green are earlier generations that aren't on that chart, so their rows are carried from our earlier listings. Fujikura doesn't publish a swing speed range for Speeder NX. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.
