WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Fujikura Speeder NX Violet is a mid-high launch driver shaft built for golfers with swing speeds between 75-105 mph. Fujikura rates the line mid/high launch and mid/low spin; in the table below, spin runs from mid-high in the 40 series to mid-low in the 60 and 70. It's the Speeder NX model with Fujikura's DHX Technology for higher-MOI driver heads. It arrives assembled with your choice of adapter and grip, ready to attach to your driver or fairway wood head.

- Play a higher-MOI driver head: Fujikura built DHX Technology for that
- Want the widest flex and weight range in the NX lineup (40g through 70g, R2 through X)
- Prefer the Speeder feel over the Ventus family: more active, less stability-focused
Not the right fit if you...
- Already launch too high: the NX Gold's lower launch is the better call
- Swing under 75 mph: look at the Ventus White or Air Speeder instead
- Want maximum face stability and dispersion control: the Ventus TR Blue with VeloCore+ is better suited for that
- Have a very aggressive, hard-loading transition: the Ventus TR family handles that better
How It Plays
Fujikura built the NX Violet on a bend profile close to the NX Blue, then tightened torque about 10% in the tip and butt to add speed and launch. Fujikura rates it stiff in the tip, stiff in the mid and firm in the handle, a touch softer in the hands than the NX Gold, which is stiff throughout.
DHX Technology adds a second carbon bias layer at an angle other than the traditional 45 degrees, which Fujikura says encourages faster ball speeds and optimizes performance with higher-MOI driver heads.
Variable Torque Core (VTC) is Fujikura's technology for refining twisting stiffness in specific regions along the core of the shaft. Speeder NX was the first Fujikura line to use it.

Have a Ping 440 k with a stock senior flex speeder shaft. Looking to see if I could pick up more distance and loft with NX. Swing speed 82. Also recommendation on 5 wood and hybrid both Callaway Quantum
At an 82 mph driver swing speed, the Fujikura Speeder NX Violet 50 Regular would be a reasonable option if you are looking for a lighter shaft with additional launch and spin.
The NX Violet 50 R is approximately 54.5g and is designed for a mid launch with mid-to-high spin, so it can provide more help getting the ball up compared with a lower-launching shaft. However, the shaft alone cannot guarantee additional distance, as launch, spin, strike quality, and your current loft all play a role.
For your 5 wood and hybrid, I would also look at lightweight, higher-launching options. If you are referring to the Callaway Quantum Max, the stock options include the Project X Denali Frost Silver, which is a mid-high-launch profile, as well as a 50g R2 Mitsubishi Vanquish option in the hybrid.
If your main goal is more launch and carry, we would generally want to stay in that lighter-weight, higher-launch category for the 5 wood and hybrid as well.

I am looking at the Speeder NX or a Ventus to replace my Krank Speeder X Tour Stiff shaft. For context, my 7W is a Qi4D with stock REAX FW 65S that shaft feels like it's perfect for my swing. The Speeder X Tour on my Krank 5W feels likes it's a bit more stiff and I have trouble launching the ball from turf. I was looking at the Violet model. Would you recommend the Violet or another shaft model?

Based on what you've described, it sounds like the Krank Speeder X Tour Stiff in your 5-wood may simply be a little too stout for your swing. Since you mentioned that your Qi4D 7-wood with the stock REAX FW 65S feels perfect, I'd be inclined to recommend a shaft with a smoother loading profile rather than something that's extremely tip-stiff.
The Fujikura Speeder NX Violet is definitely worth considering. It has a smooth feel, is easy to load, and generally produces a mid-to-high launch, making it a good option for players looking to improve launch and consistency from the turf without sacrificing stability.
Another excellent option would be the Ventus Blue, which offers a similar balance of stability and feel. If you're looking for maximum ease of launch, the NX Violet would probably be my first choice between the two.
To make the best recommendation, could you let me know:
- Approximately what is your driver swing speed?
- About how far do you hit your 5-wood and 7-wood?
- Which Ventus model are you considering (Blue, Red, or Black)?
- Are you looking for more distance, a higher launch, or simply a shaft that feels easier to load?
