WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Mitsubishi Tensei 1K Black is a low-launch, low-spin driver shaft with the firmest tip section in the TENSEI 1K family. Mitsubishi uses 1K carbon fiber in the handle to add strength and cut torque, its Xlink Tech resin in the tip for tip strength and durability, and 40-ton carbon fiber to control tip stiffness. We sell it in the 65, 75 and 85 series in S, X and TX flex. It arrives assembled with your choice of adapter and grip, ready to attach to your driver or fairway wood head.

Good fit if you...
- Want a low, penetrating flight with low spin
- Want a very strong tip that keeps the head from kicking up at impact
- Like a shaft that loads in the handle (Mitsubishi lists a high kick point)
- Swing about 81 mph or faster: Mitsubishi fits S from 81 mph, S or X from 91 mph, and X or TX above 106 mph
- Want a heavier build: we sell the 75 and 85 series as well as the 65
Not the right fit if you...
- Swing under 80 mph: Mitsubishi doesn't recommend a 1K Black flex below that speed
- Need more launch: look at a mid or high-launch shaft instead
- Want a softer tip: the TENSEI 1K Pro White has a medium tip rating
How It Plays
Mitsubishi rates the 1K Black low launch, low spin, with a flex profile of medium butt, firm mid and firm-plus tip. That firm-plus tip is the stiffest in the 1K family, so the head stays quiet through impact and spin stays down. The high kick point means you feel the shaft load up in the handle rather than near the head.
The 1K carbon fiber in the handle is the same material Mitsubishi uses in the TENSEI 1K Pro shafts. It adds strength and drives down torque, which gives the solid, connected feel 1K shafts are known for. In the tip, Mitsubishi's Xlink Tech resin adds strength and durability, and 40-ton carbon fiber fine-tunes tip stiffness and torque.
Mitsubishi's own advice: anyone looking for a very strong tip section and a low, penetrating flight should start with the 1K Black. If you want the 1K feel with a little more help getting the ball up, the 1K Pro White is the softer-tipped option.

Tensei Black 1K vs Diamana BB, what are the main differences?
If your ball flight is currently too high or you're needng a little extra spin, go with the Tensei Black 1K. If you want balanced performance across mid-launch and mid-spin with a smoother feel, Diamana BB. Both are Mitsubishi performance and both are excellent. The Tensei is the more aggressive profile. Most players who know they need low-low end up on the Tensei. Players who want versatility land on the Diamana BB.

What's the launch and spin?
Low launch, low spin, 81–106 mph sweet spot. Mitsubishi uses Xlink Tech resin in the tip section for added durability and tip stiffness control. The 1K handle keeps the whole shaft from twisting under an aggressive transition. It rewards players who load the shaft hard — the faster you swing, the more it responds.
