Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Like the Speeder feel and want a full range of weights, 48 to 77.5 g
  • Want mid launch with mid/low spin (50 and 60 series)
  • Swing fast and want a lower flight with low spin (70 series)
  • Play senior, regular, stiff-regular, stiff or x-stiff flex

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want the lowest spin in a light build: the 40 series is rated mid spin
  • Want maximum stability and the lowest flight: look at the Ventus TR Black

How It Plays

Variable Torque Core is Fujikura's design for tuning twisting stiffness in specific regions along the shaft's core. Fujikura developed the Speeder NX line with its enso motion capture system, and NX is its first line built with VTC.

The NX Green's ratings shift with weight. The 40 series has a low bend point, mid spin and mid/high launch. The 50 and 60 series move to a mid bend point with mid/low spin and mid launch. The 70 series has a mid/high bend point, low spin and mid/low launch.

Torque runs from 5.7 in the 40 series down to 3.0 in the 70 series.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the Speeder NX Green for?

As Grips4Less fitting guidance, the 60 S suits swing speeds around 95 to 105 mph, the 60 X and 70 S around 100 to 110 mph, and the 70 X faster swings above 108 mph. Fujikura publishes no swing speed range for Speeder NX. For the 40 and 50 series, contact us and we will help you match a flex.

Which weight should I choose?

Weight changes the flight on this shaft. Choose the 40 series for the most launch, the 50 or 60 series for a mid flight with mid/low spin, and the 70 series for the lowest launch and spin.

What is Variable Torque Core?

Fujikura's design for refining twisting stiffness in specific regions along the shaft's core, using its choice of materials and layup. Speeder NX is the first Fujikura line built with it.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM-compatible adapter tip installed (Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson; see all shaft adapters) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I am a senior with a SIM2 9 degree adjustable driver, Tensei AV series 60 g R Flex shaft and Winn DriTac 2.0 midsize grip. I turn 80 this year; and play golf for about 6 months a year in the good weather months. I average about 2-3 games per week. My handicap index is 19; and my recently measured Driver swing speed is 80 mph. I seem to have lost about 15 yards of distance on my drives and would like to recoup that distance. Would a senior shaft assist? For example the Fujikura Speeder NX Green ? I also have a trigger finger on my right hand that interferes with my upper hand grip ( I am a Leftie) and am considering a jumbo grip. would that also assist?

    Hi Bob,

First off, happy early 80th birthday! Playing 2-3 times a week is fantastic, and we'd love to help you get those 15 yards back.

To answer your questions directly: Yes to both!

    1. The Shaft (Distance): At an 80 mph swing speed, your current 60g Regular flex shaft is simply too heavy and too stiff for you now. This makes it hard to launch the ball high enough to maximize carry distance. Moving to a lighter Senior flex (like the Speeder NX Green in a 40g or 50g "A-Flex" / Senior) will allow you to swing faster with less effort, helping you launch the ball higher and recoup that lost yardage.

    2. The Grip (Comfort): A Jumbo/Oversize grip is exactly what we recommend for players dealing with trigger finger or joint pain. Because the grip is thicker, your right hand won't have to close as tightly around the club. This significantly reduces tendon strain and pain. Sticking with a soft grip like a Winn Dri-Tac in Jumbo size will be incredibly comfortable for you.

When you are ready to order the assembled Speeder NX Green, just select the "Senior" flex option and choose a Jumbo grip from the dropdown menu, and we will build it perfectly for your SIM2!

Let me know if you need any help placing the order.

    Best regards,

    Jim Grips4Less

  • How does this compare to blue speeder nx v which I Have ?

Speeder NX Blue has a higher launch (and slightly higher spin) then the Speeder NX Green shafts. The Green also has a bit more feel/feedback.
