Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing about 80 to 105 mph and want mid launch with controlled spin
  • Like a smooth, loaded feel but want more stability than the NX Violet
  • Want a speed-focused shaft that keeps the ball from ballooning
  • Want 50, 60 or 70 series weights

Not the right fit if you...

  • Swing under 80 mph
  • Need more height: the NX Violet is rated mid/high launch
  • Want the lowest spin and a stiff tip: look at the Ventus TR Black

How It Plays

Fujikura rates the NX Gold mid launch and mid/low spin. Compared with the NX Violet, the Gold adds a stiffened mid section, which Fujikura says lowers launch and spin while keeping the feel when you load the shaft.

Variable Torque Core is Fujikura's technology for tuning twisting stiffness in specific regions along the core of the shaft. Fujikura developed the Speeder NX line with its enso motion capture system.

The 50 and 60 series carry a mid bend point with mid/low spin and mid launch. The 70 S has a mid/high bend point and is rated low spin and mid/low launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the Speeder NX Gold for?

As Grips4Less fitting guidance, the NX Gold suits about 80 to 105 mph: the 50 series around 80 to 90 mph, the 60 series around 90 to 100 mph and the 70 series around 100 to 110 mph. Within each weight, R or SR suits smoother tempos and S or X more aggressive ones.

How is the NX Gold different from the NX Violet?

Fujikura rates the Gold mid launch and the Violet mid/high launch; both are mid/low spin. The Gold adds a stiffened mid section for stability, while the Violet tightens torque in the tip and butt and adds DHX technology.

What is Variable Torque Core?

Fujikura's design for refining twisting stiffness in specific regions along the shaft's core, using its choice of materials and layup techniques. Speeder NX is the first Fujikura line built with it.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM-compatible adapter tip installed (Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson; see all shaft adapters) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I was fitted with a Speeder NX Violet 50 R 45 inch long shaft on a Titleist GT1 10.0 driver head set to A1. I'm 66 years old and play to a +12. I hit it higher than I would like. Went back to the fitter and he took the loft down .75, but still hit high. Would changing to a Gold or Green Speeder help? If so, would a SR be a good fit in the same weight? BTY, love the feel og the Speeder NX line.

Yes, both the Green and Gold would bring your flight down, and both come in 50g SR. The Gold has a stiffer mid section that tends to produce the most noticeable reduction in launch and spin of the two. The Gold would be our first pick if you want to tame that ball flight a touch while staying in the NX family. All the new Speeder NX's have great feel, good power.
