Will this shaft fit your irons?

Check before you buy. Takes about 20 seconds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura MCI is a graphite iron shaft with metal built into the construction, which is how it gets a steel-like weight distribution out of a graphite shaft. Every build is rated low-mid launch, low-mid spin and a mid bend point, and you pick from three weight series: 60, 80 and 100, from 63 g to 106 g. This is the 0.370" parallel-tip version, sold by iron number, so you order one shaft for each club you're reshafting. This run has been replaced by the New Generation 2026 MCI, and both pages carry the same current Fujikura chart.

Not sure which weight you need? Take the 2-Minute Shaft Quiz or compare every family in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

This is the earlier MCI run. Fujikura has replaced it with the New Generation 2026 MCI, which we also stock. Same three weight series, same 0.370" parallel tip, same specs on Fujikura's current chart. If the series, flex and iron number you need isn't on this dropdown, check the 2026 page.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want graphite in your irons but don't want the club to feel light in the head, since the metal in the MCI puts the weight where steel puts it
  • Want a flatter iron flight than Fujikura's mid-launch graphite iron shafts give you
  • Play steel in the 85 to 105 g range now and want to try graphite without a big jump in weight. That's the 80 and 100 series
  • Have irons with a 0.370" parallel hosel and either build your own or have a shop that will cut and install them

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want mid launch and mid spin. The Pro Iron is rated mid for both and comes as a one-length blank
  • Want Fujikura's bias core in an iron shaft. That's the Axiom 0.370"
  • Have 0.355" taper-tip irons. The Axiom 0.355" is made iron by iron, 2 through wedge
  • Want the current run with the full option set. Go to the New Generation 2026 MCI

How It Plays

Metal and carbon in the same shaft. Fujikura's Metal Composite Technology joins carbon fiber with metal, and the point is weight distribution. The MCI carries its weight more like a steel shaft does, so a club built with it swings closer to how your steel set did, with graphite under your hands.

Low-mid launch, low-mid spin, mid bend point, in every build. The flight rating doesn't change when you move between the 60, 80 and 100. What changes is weight and torque. The 60 series is 2.9 degrees, the 80 drops to 2.0, and the 100 S is 1.6, so the heavier you go, the tighter the shaft gets.

Sold by the iron, not as a blank. Each shaft is made at the raw length for its iron number, from 40" at the long end down to 35.5" across the set, with a 2.5" parallel tip section. You pick the number that matches the club it's going into, and your builder butt trims it to your playing length. There's no one-length blank to step here.

Picking a series and flex

  • Start near the weight you play now. Coming out of 95 to 105 g steel, look at the 100 S or the 80 S. Coming out of lightweight steel in the 80s or a graphite set in the 70s, the 80 series is the direct swap. The 60 series is for golfers who want the lightest shaft in the line.
  • There's no senior flex. The MCI comes in R and S in the 60 and 80, and S in the 100. R is as soft as it gets. If you're between R and S, go by tempo: a quick transition takes the S, a smooth one is happier in the R.
  • One shaft, one iron. Add each iron number to the cart separately, in the same series and flex, so a 5 through PW set is six lines in your order. Check the numbers twice before you check out, because one wrong line means one iron sitting without a shaft while the right one ships.
  • About the 100 X on our dropdown. Fujikura's current chart lists the 100 series in R and S only. Contact us before you order the X and we'll confirm what we have and what it weighs.

Graphite with metal composite construction. Raw length runs from 40" to 35.5" by iron number, parallel tip section 2.5", tip diameter 0.370" (our measurement; the tip diameter isn't on Fujikura's chart). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number. The 100 X on our dropdown isn't on the chart, so contact us before ordering it.

How the MCI Weights Compare

Series Flexes We Sell Weight Torque Launch Spin Bend Point
MCI 60 (You're here) R, S 63 to 65 g 2.9 Low-mid Low-mid Mid
MCI 80 (You're here) R, S 84 to 86 g 2.0 Low-mid Low-mid Mid
MCI 100 (You're here) S 106 g 1.6 Low-mid Low-mid Mid

All three series are on this listing, so every row is you. Launch, spin and bend point are Fujikura's ratings. Want to see how the MCI sits against the rest of Fujikura's graphite irons? The Pro Iron is rated mid launch and mid spin with a high-density core, and the Axiom 0.370" runs mid launch in the 75 and drops to low-mid launch in the 105 and 125, with low-mid spin in the 105 and low spin in the 125, with Fujikura's bias core. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a senior or A flex?

No. R is the softest flex Fujikura makes in the MCI. A golfer playing a 95 g steel shaft asked us about a senior flex here, and the honest answer is that the closest thing is the 60 R at 63 g: the lightest and softest build in the line. If you need something softer than that, the MCI isn't your shaft, and we'd rather tell you that than sell you one.

What do the Series and Number dropdowns mean?

Series is the weight class: the 60 series weighs 63 to 65 g, the 80 series 84 to 86 g, and the 100 S is 106 g. Number is the iron the shaft is made for. A #7 is a 7 iron shaft, cut at the raw length for a 7 iron. Order the number that matches each club you're reshafting.

How do I know if my irons take a 0.370" parallel tip?

Pull one shaft and measure the tip. A parallel tip is 0.370" the whole way along the tip section. A taper tip measures 0.355" at the very end and widens as you go up. If you don't want to pull a shaft, contact us with your iron model and year and we'll look it up. For taper hosels, the Axiom 0.355" is the Fujikura option.

What's different about the New Generation 2026 version?

Fujikura's current chart is the same for both, so the weights, torque and flight ratings you see above apply to the 2026 run as well. The 2026 page is the current production shaft and has the full set of iron numbers in every series. This page is the earlier run, and what's on the dropdown is what we have. If you're building a full set, buy it from the 2026 page so every iron comes from the same run.

Does it come cut and installed?

No. This listing is the bare shaft at its raw length, with nothing installed and no grip. If you'd like help with the build, contact us before you order with your iron model and the lengths you play.

No. R is the softest flex Fujikura makes in the MCI. A golfer playing a 95 g steel shaft asked us about a senior flex here, and the honest answer is that the closest thing is the 60 R at 63 g: the lightest and softest build in the line.
