FULL DESCRIPTION

TENSEI™ 1K Black is built specifically to suit powerful swings with no sacrifice in feel and responsiveness. TENSEI™ 1K Black utilizes a focused application of 1K carbon fiber, the same high-performance material featured in TENSEI™ 1K Pro White, to increase strength in the handle, drive down torque and provide the signature “1K feel.” TENSEI™ 1K BLACK also utilizes Mitsubishi’s Xlink Tech™ Resin System in the tip section to bolster the shaft’s tip strength and increase the shaft’s durability. Tip stiffness and torque are further controlled through the use of 40-ton carbon fiber in the shaft’s construction. Add the subtle, yet premium matte clear finish and you get a shaft that gives high speed players the low launch, low spin performance with great feel they need with the good looks they desire.

The TENSEI 1K Black is the lowest launching, lowest spinning shaft in the entire Mitsubishi driver lineup — built for the fastest swing speeds who need to aggressively suppress ball flight and eliminate spin. Built on Mitsubishi's premium 1K single-ply carbon fiber construction, it features a medium-stiffness handle for loading feel, a firm mid section for stability through the downswing, and an ultra-stiff tip that produces the lowest spin rate of any TENSEI model. The high kick point means the shaft loads near the handle rather than the tip, creating a smooth, stable feel in the hands while keeping the head locked down at impact. Best suited for swing speeds of 105 mph and above who consistently over-spin or over-launch their driver.

Compared to the TENSEI 1K Pro Orange (also low launch, low spin), the 1K Black has a stiffer tip section — making it the more demanding option for players who generate higher ball speeds and need the absolute maximum in spin suppression. Compared to the Diamana WB (also low launch, low spin, firmer overall profile), the 1K Black has a softer feel through the handle due to its multi-material TENSEI construction, while the WB delivers a firmer, more planted sensation from top of backswing through impact. Players who want the 1K platform with a slightly more accessible ball flight should step up to the TENSEI 1K Pro White or TENSEI 1K Pro Blue instead.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Tensei Black 1K vs Diamana BB, what are the main differences?

If your ball flight is currently too high or you're needng a little extra spin, go with the Tensei Black 1K. If you want balanced performance across mid-launch and mid-spin with a smoother feel, Diamana BB. Both are Mitsubishi performance and both are excellent. The Tensei is the more aggressive profile. Most players who know they need low-low end up on the Tensei. Players who want versatility land on the Diamana BB.

  • What's the launch and spin?

Low launch, low spin, 81–106 mph sweet spot. Mitsubishi uses Xlink Tech resin in the tip section for added durability and tip stiffness control. The 1K handle keeps the whole shaft from twisting under an aggressive transition. It rewards players who load the shaft hard — the faster you swing, the more it responds.

  • What makes the Tensei Black 1K different from other low-spin shafts?

The key feature of the Tensei Black 1K is the 1K carbon fiber in the handle section. It's the same material used in the Tensei 1K Pro White, applied specifically to drive down torque and give the butt a distinctive "locked in" feel. It's a low-launch, low-spin shaft for quick tempo swings (with speeds between 81–106 mph), but the feel is unusually smooth for something that aggressive. If you've tried other low-spin options and found them too stiff or boardy, the Tensei Black 1K is worth a look.
