WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Fujikura Ventus Blue with the original VeloCore is the mid-launch, low-spin driver shaft that started the Ventus line, built for golfers who want a penetrating flight and a face that stays square through impact. The tip is ultra-stiff, the mid is stiff and the handle stays firm, which is the combination that fit more swings than either sibling. You pick the weight and flex from 9 options, 5 R through 8 TX, and it arrives with your adapter tip and grip installed, cut to length, ready to screw into your driver or fairway wood.
Not sure Blue is your profile? Take the 2-Minute Shaft Quiz or compare every profile in our Fujikura Ventus Shaft Guide.
This is the original VeloCore version. Fujikura's current Ventus Blue is built on VeloCore+, which adds another material to the multi-material bias core, aimed at tighter dispersion and more ball speed on mishits. The profile is the same mid launch and low spin, and the current version comes in 14 options including a 5 R2 and a 9 X. If you want the newest build, order the assembled Ventus Blue VeloCore+. If you already play the original and want it built to your specs, you're in the right place.

Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want a mid flight with low spin and a face that stays square when you catch one off the toe
- Hit it fine on the range but lose it right or left when it counts, and want a shaft that holds up under pressure
- Already play the original Ventus Blue and want the same shaft built to your specs, not the VeloCore+ update
- Want a fairway wood build in a heavier weight, with the 7 and 8 series here for that job
Not the right fit if you...
- Need help getting the ball up. The original Ventus Red launches higher with a lower bend point
- Launch it high with a hard transition and want the flattest flight in the family. Go to the original Ventus Black
- Want the newest construction, or a weight and flex we don't stock in the original, such as a 5 R2 or a 9 X. That's the assembled Ventus Blue VeloCore+
- Build your own clubs and just want the raw shaft. Grab the uncut original Ventus Blue and save the build time
How It Plays
Stable without feeling like a board. The firm handle lets you load it through transition, then the stiff tip takes over and holds the face square. Coming off a softer stock shaft, expect the miss to get smaller before anything else changes. Once you trust it, you stop steering and start swinging through the ball again.
Mid launch, low spin, right in the middle of the original three. Red launches higher with more spin and a low bend point. Black flies lower and flatter with a high bend point. Blue sits between them with a mid bend point, so it doesn't need perfect timing to work, and that's why it fits more swings and tempos than either sibling.
The core is the whole point. VeloCore is a multi-material bias core that runs the length of the shaft and keeps the tip from twisting on off-center hits. The VeloCore+ version that replaced it adds one more core material to the same idea. The goal didn't change between the two: a square face and ball speed on the hits that aren't flush.
Before you pick your options
- Weight before flex. In the original Blue the 5 series is 58.5 to 59 g, the 6 series 65 g, the 7 series 76 to 77.5 g and the 8 series 84.5 to 86 g. If your current driver shaft is in the low 60s, start with the Blue 6. When you want more stability, go up a series before you go up a flex. The heavier shaft calms the head without making the whole club feel stiff.
- Not every flex in every weight. We stock the 5 in R and S, the 6 in R, S and X, the 7 in S and X, and the 8 in S and TX. If the combination you're after isn't here, the assembled VeloCore+ Blue covers most of the gaps.
- Length is measured adapter tip to grip. The number you pick is the shaft assembly with no head on it. Choose the standard length option for your brand and you get that brand's stock playing length. For a custom length, remember the head adds roughly an inch, so a driver you want to play at 45.25" is about a 44.25" tip-to-grip build. Every half inch you take off costs about three swingweight points, so if you go shorter than stock, tell us and we can add tape under the grip or you can plan a heavier head weight.

Graphite. Raw length 46" before we cut it, parallel tip section 3.0", tip diameter 0.335" (our measurement; Fujikura's chart never listed tip diameter). Tip flex and butt flex are Fujikura's stiffness ratings; within a model, the stiffer flex has the lower number.
Specs carried from our previous listing; Fujikura no longer publishes a chart for this version.
How the Original Ventus Family Compares
| Profile | Launch | Spin | Bend Point | Tip / Mid / Handle | Weights We Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ventus Red | Mid-high | Mid | Low (9 X: low-mid) | Stiff / Firm / Ultra-stiff | 58 to 94 g |
| Ventus Blue (You're here) | Mid | Low | Mid | Ultra-stiff / Stiff / Firm | 58.5 to 86 g |
| Ventus Black | Low | Low | High | Ultra-stiff / Stiff / Ultra-stiff | 58 to 77 g |
Launch, spin, bend point and section stiffness are Fujikura's ratings for the original line, carried from our listings. The weight column is what we stock in the original VeloCore version, not Fujikura's full range. Want the Blue profile with Spread Tow fabric in the mid and handle? That's the assembled original Ventus TR Blue. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.
