WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Fujikura Axiom is Fujikura's graphite composite iron shaft, built with the same VeloCore technology as the Ventus wood shafts. Fujikura calls it "the iron shaft you ditch steel for." This listing is the 0.355" taper-tip version, sold one shaft per iron (2-iron to wedge) in four weight series: 75, 95, 105 and 125 grams. Each shaft is already tapered and tip-trimmed by Fujikura for its iron.
Before you order: each shaft is made for one iron, so order one per club. See How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work.
Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Want to switch from steel to graphite without losing stability or control
- Have irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel and want a shaft made for each iron, with no tip-trimming chart to follow
- Want VeloCore, the construction behind Ventus, in your irons
- Want to match weight to your swing: from the 75 g lightweight series up to the 125 g series Fujikura built for strong, aggressive swingers
Not the right fit if you...
- Have irons that take a 0.370" parallel tip: choose the Axiom 0.370" version instead
- Prefer to buy one-length blanks and soft- or hard-step them yourself: the 0.370" Axiom (Long / Mid / Short) or the Fujikura Pro Iron suit that better
- Want a very light, high-launch shaft for more carry: every Axiom series is rated mid or low-mid launch by Fujikura. Take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz to find a better match
How It Plays
VeloCore is Fujikura's multi-material bias core construction. Fujikura tailored it for Axiom so the club stays more stable through transition and at impact, which it says means more efficient strikes, better results on mishits, and tighter consistency and accuracy.
Built for each part of the set. Fujikura designs the Axiom in three sections: long irons (2–4) to maximize carry while keeping launch and spin controlled enough to hold greens, mid irons (5–7) for workability and shot shaping, and short irons (8-iron to wedge) for accuracy and tighter dispersion. The taper-tip shafts on this page share that design; each one is tapered and tip-trimmed at the factory for its iron.
Four weights, one feel. Torque drops as the weight goes up, from 2.1–2.6° in the 75 series to 1.2–1.6° in the 125 series. Fujikura describes the 75 as a lightweight option with the stability of heavier shafts, the 95 as a mid-weight added in 2025 from player and fitter feedback, the 105 as lighter than traditional steel without giving up control, and the 125 as the heavier option for players with strength and speed, with sub-2° torque throughout the set.

Length = Fujikura's uncut shaft length. W = wedge. L = low, M/L = low-mid, M = mid, M/H = mid-high, H = high. Tip and butt flex are Fujikura's own stiffness ratings (higher = stiffer). *The 125 X 2-iron is not in Fujikura's Axiom taper table; its figures are from Fujikura's Shaft Specs page, which does not list tip or butt flex for it.
Will It Fit Your Irons?
This shaft is for irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel. Order one shaft for each iron you are reshafting, and pick the iron number in the dropdown: Fujikura makes each taper shaft for a specific iron, so a 7-iron shaft is not meant to go in your 5-iron. If your irons take a 0.370" parallel tip, get the Axiom 0.370" instead. Fujikura notes its 0.370" parallel Axiom can also be trimmed to fit 0.355" taper hosels.
Not sure which tip your irons take, or how long each shaft should be? Read How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work, take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz, or let us install them with our Retrofit Service.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
currently using kbs tour-v 120x. would the axiom in a 125 x stiff work?
Yes, the Fujikura Axiom 125 X would be a reasonable option if you're currently playing the KBS Tour-V 120 X.
The Axiom 125 X is slightly heavier and offers a stable, controlled profile with a smooth feel. Compared to the Tour-V 120 X, you may notice the Axiom feels a little smoother while still providing plenty of stability and control.
If you are happy with the weight and stiffness of your current Tour-V 120 X, the Axiom 125 X would be a good option to consider.

Are these shafts cut to length or can I cut them to the length I want?
Hi Floyd,
The Fujikura Axiom iron shafts are supplied uncut (raw length) from the manufacturer. They are designed to be trimmed to the proper length during the club-building process.
If you're building the clubs yourself, you can cut them to your desired playing length by following Fujikura's recommended trimming instructions.
If you'd like us to build the shafts for you, we can also cut them to your requested length before shipping.
Please let us know if you have any questions—we're happy to help!

I currently use kbs ctaper lite 105stiff in my p7cb irons p-4. I am looking for a softer feel with controlled ball flight in low irons but struggle to get the ball high enough in 5 and 4 irons. What shaft would you suggest I use. I have around 165 ball speed with driver to help gauge swing speed.
Hi Sean,
Based on what you've described, I think the Fujikura Axiom is definitely worth considering.
The KBS C-Taper Lite is a great shaft, but it still has a fairly firm tip section. If you're struggling to launch the 4- and 5-irons while wanting a softer overall feel, the Axiom should give you exactly that—a smoother feel with excellent stability and improved launch in the longer irons without sacrificing control in the scoring clubs.
With a driver ball speed around 165 mph, I'd recommend the Axiom 105 Stiff if you like the overall weight of your current shafts. It will provide a similar weight with a noticeably smoother feel.
If your primary goal is maximizing launch in the long irons, another option is to soft-step the Axiom 105 once or consider a progressive build, where the 4- and 5-irons use the Axiom 75 or 90, while the 6-PW remain in the Axiom 105. That's one of the strengths of the Axiom series—it allows you to optimize each part of the set.
I'd be happy to discuss the different build options if you're interested.
Thanks!
Jim

Trying to choose between the Fujikura Axiom 105 or the MCI mild for my 50, 54, 60 vokey wedges. I play the 105s in my irons now but I’m concerned with too much spin and ballooning.
If you already play the Axiom 105s in your irons, staying with the Axiom series in your wedges will usually provide the most consistent feel and transition throughout the set.
That said, if you are concerned about excessive spin or ballooning in the wedges, the MCI Mild may launch a little flatter and feel slightly smoother through impact. The Axiom tends to feel more stable and connected, while the MCI Mild is a bit softer and more active overall.
For Vokey wedges specifically:
- Axiom 105 = more stable, tighter dispersion, consistent with your irons
- MCI Mild = smoother feel, slightly easier launch, potentially less “boardy”
If you already flight the Axiom irons well and are not ballooning your iron shots, we would probably lean toward keeping the Axiom 105s in the wedges for consistency.
-
when will you have 5i and 6i axiom 75R in stock?
Yes, according to our vendor , we should have them back in stock again in one to two weeks . Please submit your order ASAP.

So to soft step a 6 iron, a 5 iron shaft is installed. Is that correct?
that is correct ...

How would you soft step / 1/2 soft step?
For a taper tip shaft, a half soft-step is achieved by installing the next longest shaft and then performing a 1/4" tip trim to slightly stiffen it back up.
