Will this shaft fit your irons?

Check before you buy. Takes about 20 seconds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Vista Pro Iron is a flighted graphite iron shaft, which means the weight you pick sets the flight: the 40, 50 and 60 series are rated high launch and high spin for carry, and the 70 series comes down to mid launch and mid spin. Inside is a multi-material bias core borrowed from what Fujikura learned building Ventus, so a light shaft still feels steady through impact. This is the 0.370" parallel-tip version, a 40.5" blank with a 6.0" parallel tip section that gets trimmed for each iron, in nine options from a 40 R3 at 49 g to a 70 S at 75 g.

Not sure which series matches your swing? Take the 2-Minute Shaft Quiz or compare every family in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want more height and carry from your irons and are willing to take some spin to get it
  • Want a lighter shaft than steel, somewhere between 49 and 75 g, without paying tour-shaft money
  • Need a ladies (R3) or senior (R2) flex in a current Fujikura iron shaft
  • Have irons with a 0.370" parallel hosel, or a builder who trims parallel blanks

Not the right fit if you...

  • Have irons with a 0.355" taper hosel. This shaft is parallel only, and the Axiom 0.355" taper comes made for each iron
  • Swing fast and want a flatter, lower-spin flight. The Axiom 0.370" is rated mid to low-mid launch and runs 75 to 125 g
  • Want the lightest possible shaft and only need one flex. The Sakura 40 Hybrid/Iron is 44 g

How It Plays

Pick the weight, pick the flight. The 40, 50 and 60 series share a high-launch, high-spin profile with a low or low-mid bend point. Lighter means a softer tip and an easier time getting the ball up. The 70 series is a different animal: mid launch, mid spin, mid bend point, closer to a light steel shaft than to the rest of the Vista Pro line.

Steady for a light shaft. The core is a multi-material bias core, the same idea behind VeloCore in the Ventus woods, and it keeps the tip from twisting on heel and toe strikes. Torque runs from 5.2 degrees in the 40 R3 down to 3.6 in the 70 S, so the heavier you go, the tighter it gets.

Priced to reshaft a whole set. It's the least expensive Fujikura iron shaft we carry, and the questions on this page cover 20-year-old Cobra and Cleveland heads getting a second life as well as current irons. Either way, one blank for each club and a trim is all it takes.

Picking a series and flex

  • Series by speed, flex by tempo. The 40 and 50 are for slower swings that need launch. Step up to the 60 if you're a regular or stiff player who still wants height. Go to the 70 if you already launch it fine and want a light steel replacement. Within a series, a quick transition wants the firmer flex.
  • R3 and R2. R3 is the ladies flex and R2 the senior flex. The 40 comes in both, the 50 adds a regular, and the 60 and 70 come in regular and stiff.
  • Check the hosel first. Most of the questions on this page ask whether it fits a particular iron. It fits a 0.370" parallel hosel, and whether yours is one changes by brand, model and year, so contact us with your head model and we'll confirm before you order.
  • Tip trimming. The parallel section is 6.0". Fujikura's tip-trim chart on the page we checked covers woods and hybrids by loft, not irons by number, so go by your builder's chart for parallel iron blanks or contact us before you cut.

We don't build the Vista Pro Iron assembled; it ships as the raw blank. The hybrid version does come built: see the assembled Vista Pro Hybrid with your adapter tip and grip installed. Want to go heavier and steadier in the irons? The Axiom 0.370" starts at 75 g, and the Pro Iron is Fujikura's one-length blank with a denser core.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my irons?

If the hosel takes a 0.370" parallel shaft, yes. From the questions on this page, TaylorMade M3, M4 and SIM Max, Callaway Apex 21, Cleveland HiBore, Tour Edge and PXG 0211 DC irons have all checked out as 0.370". Ping G series, Mizuno JPX900 and TaylorMade P770 and P790 irons take a 0.355" taper, so this shaft won't go in them. Hosel sizes change by model year, so contact us with your head model and year before you order and we'll confirm.

Does it come in a 0.355" taper tip?

No. The Vista Pro Iron is 0.370" parallel only. If your irons take a taper, the Axiom 0.355" taper is Fujikura's taper iron shaft, and it comes made for each iron number.

Can I replace one broken shaft in a set of the older all-red Vista Pro irons?

Yes. The graphics and some materials changed in the redesign, but a 40 R2 is still a 40 R2, and it should blend in well enough that one replacement shaft won't stand out in the set. If the whole set is on its last legs, reshafting all of them at this price is the cleaner fix.

Will it work in older irons with a bigger hosel bore?

Usually, with a shim. Some older heads (the mid-90s King Cobra II Oversize is the one that comes up) have a 0.380" bore, which leaves the 0.370" tip loose. A 0.010" or 0.015" brass shim fills the gap, centers the shaft and gives the epoxy something to hold. Tell your builder before the glue comes out.

Which series for a 50 degree wedge?

Match your irons. If you play the 50i R in your irons, use the 50i R in the gap wedge so the feel doesn't change on partial shots. Check the wedge's tip size first, though; many Cleveland wedges are 0.355" taper even when the irons they're paired with are parallel.
