Will this shaft fit your irons?

Check before you buy. Takes about 20 seconds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Mitsubishi MMT AMC Red is the lightweight series of Mitsubishi's AMC graphite iron shafts, with Metal Mesh Technology in the tip section. Its AMC weighting keeps the long irons light and adds weight from the 8-iron into the scoring clubs, and Mitsubishi rates it high launch, mid spin. This listing sells the 45, 55 and 65 series (R4, R3, A-flex, R and S), one shaft per iron with a 0.355" tip.

Before you order: each shaft is made for one iron, so order one per club. See How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a light graphite iron shaft, from 40 g (45 series) to 66 g (65 S wedge)
  • Swing a driver at moderate speed: Mitsubishi fits the 45 R4 at 80 mph and the 65 S at 106 mph and up, with the other flexes in between
  • Want higher-launching long irons with slightly heavier scoring clubs
  • Have irons with a 0.355" tip hosel and want a shaft made for each iron

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want a midweight shaft: the MMT AMC Blue is the 85 series, 73 to 90 g
  • Want the same weight in every iron: the MMT Taper Iron has one weight per model
  • Have irons that take a 0.370" parallel tip: look at the MMT Parallel Iron or take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz
  • Want a low ball flight: Mitsubishi rates every AMC Red build high launch

How It Plays

Metal Mesh in the tip. Mitsubishi builds a section of fine metal mesh into the tip section of the AMC Red. It says this keeps the light shafts stable and the strikes consistent.

Weight that climbs through the set. Mitsubishi adds about 2 g per club from the 8-iron through the scoring clubs, so the long irons stay as light as possible and the short irons get a little more weight for control. The 65 S, for example, weighs 60 g from the 3-iron to the 7-iron, then 62 g, 65 g and 66 g in the 8-iron, 9-iron and wedge.

High launch, mid spin. Mitsubishi rates the AMC Red high launch and mid spin with a mid-low kick point, for players with moderate swing speeds who want launch and distance from the mid and long irons.

Will It Fit Your Irons?

This shaft is for irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel. Order one shaft for each iron you are reshafting and pick the series, flex and iron in the dropdown: Mitsubishi makes each AMC Red shaft for its iron, with its own weight and torque, so a 7-iron shaft is not meant to go in your 5-iron. If your irons take a 0.370" parallel tip, look at the MMT Parallel Iron instead.
