WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The True Temper Multi-Step Lite is a step-pattern steel iron shaft with an extended 0.370" parallel tip, so the amount you tip-trim sets how firm it plays. Our figures list the R/S combination at 128 g with a 0.600" butt, in a 42" or 40" raw length. This listing is sold in S-flex.

Before you order: each shaft is one R/S combination-flex length. How much you trim from the tip sets the flex and fits it to the iron, then you butt-trim to playing length. Order one per club, or let our Retrofit Service cut and install them.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Build or repair clubs yourself and want a steel shaft you can trim to flex
  • Play a stiff flex and want a shaft around 128 g
  • Are reshafting irons with 0.370" parallel hosels
  • Are replacing Multi-Step Lite shafts and want to match the rest of the set

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want a lighter steel shaft: the Dynamic Gold 105 0.370" is 101 to 103 g
  • Play a senior or ladies flex: the Custom Lite with Sensicore is an A/L combo at 115 g
  • Want launch and spin ratings: we have no published rating for this shaft
  • Have irons with a 0.355" taper tip: this shaft is 0.370" only

How It Plays

Step pattern. The Multi-Step Lite uses a stepped steel design with a longer parallel section at the tip, which leaves room to trim between flexes.

One shaft, trimmed to flex. It is an R/S combination: trimming more from the tip makes it play stiffer, trimming less keeps it closer to regular, and the same trim fits it to each iron.

128 g. Our figures list the R/S at 128 g with a 0.600" butt, in a 42" or 40" raw length.

Will It Fit Your Irons?

This shaft is for irons with a 0.370" parallel-tip hosel. It is one R/S combination-flex length: the amount you tip-trim decides how firm it plays and fits it to each iron, then you butt-trim to playing length, so order one shaft per club. Check the True Temper trimming instructions (PDF) before you cut.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Multi-Step Lite weigh?

Our figures list the R/S at 128 g as a raw shaft, before trimming.

What does R/S combo mean?

It is a combination flex. One raw shaft can play as either flex: trimming more from the tip makes it play firmer, trimming less keeps it softer, and the tip trim also fits it to each iron. This listing is sold in S-flex. Contact us for the trim amounts for your set, or let our Retrofit Service cut and install them.

Can I use it in my wedges?

Yes, if your wedges take a 0.370" parallel-tip shaft. Trim it the same way as for the irons, then cut it to playing length.

Multi-Step Lite or Commercial Grade?

Both are R/S combination steel shafts with a 0.370" parallel tip. Our figures list the Multi-Step Lite at 128 g with a step pattern and the Commercial Grade at 125 g in a 40" length.

What launch and spin does it have?

We have no published launch or spin rating for the Multi-Step Lite. If flight matters most, take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz or contact us.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • What is the weight and flex point of this shaft and is it a ladies' shaft?

Weight is 125g (for A/L flex) and 128g (for R/S flex).

Either flex would be fine for a ladies shaft, though "L-flex" is technically a Ladies flex.

The shaft has a mid-flex point.
