WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid uses the same Metal Mesh Technology as Mitsubishi's MMT iron shafts. We sell the 60 to 100 series, A to TX. It arrives assembled with your choice of hybrid adapter and grip, ready to attach to your hybrid head.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a hybrid shaft that bridges your irons and woods
  • Play MMT iron shafts and want the same technology in your hybrid
  • Want a mid launch and mid spin
  • Want a heavier, stable hybrid shaft: 64 to 109 grams

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want a very light, soft hybrid shaft: the lightest option is 64 grams
  • Want a low-launching hybrid shaft

How It Plays

Mitsubishi rates the MMT Hybrid mid launch, mid spin with a mid kick point. The metal mesh section in the tip adds weight and stability, and Mitsubishi describes the result as a blend of steel strength and composite feel for better players who want a smooth transition from irons to metals.

Weight is the main choice. The 60 and 70 series (64 to 73 grams) come in A and R flex, the 80 and 90 series (85 to 101 grams) in S, X and TX, and the 100 series (109 grams) in TX only.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Do they make a Mitsubishi 60 a shaft for a PXG 0311 7 hybrid (31 degree)?

    Hi Shane,

Yes, the Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid shaft can certainly be used in a PXG 0311 7 Hybrid (31°).

Our drop-down menu currently only lists hybrid numbers up to #6, but that's primarily for assembly reference. If you'd like to order one for your 7 Hybrid, simply select the closest option and then add a note in the "ADDITIONAL NOTES" field during checkout stating:

"Please build for PXG 0311 7 Hybrid (31°)."

Our build team will see the note and assemble the shaft accordingly.

If you have any questions about flex or weight selection, I'd be happy to help as well.

    Best regards,

    Jim

  • What's the launch and spin on the MMT Hybrid?

Mid-launch, mid-spin. The metal mesh tip section increases stability and directional control compared to pure graphite. It's available in 60–100 series (weight), multiple flexes per series. Players typically notice tighter dispersion and more consistent distance control versus a standard graphite hybrid shaft.

  • What flex should I order?

Many players go one flex softer than your driver shaft. Hybrids generate less speed than drivers so the shaft loads differently, a Stiff driver player usually plays Regular in a hybrid. Use this as your guide: A-Flex (Senior) for under 75mph, R-Flex for 75–85mph, S-Flex for 85–95mph, X or TX for 95mph+. If your on the high end and/or swing with a quick tempo, you may also want to go stiffer.

  • What's special about the MMT Hybrid compared to a regular graphite hybrid shaft?

The metal mesh. Mitsubishi integrates a section of metal mesh into the tip, it adds weight and stability right where you need it in a hybrid head. The result is something in between steel feel and graphite weight. You get the solid impact feel and spin control of steel with the lighter swing weight of graphite. Better players who switch from steel hybrid shafts to the MMT usually don't miss the steel feel at all.
