FULL DESCRIPTION
The Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid Shaft in the 60 Series is a mid launch, mid spin hybrid shaft built on Mitsubishi's Metal Mesh Technology — integrating individually braided strands of 304 stainless steel directly into the composite prepreg layers near the tip to combine steel-like feedback and stability with the lighter weight and vibration dampening of graphite. The 60 Series weight class makes it particularly well suited for players with swing speeds between 80 and 100 mph who want a lightweight hybrid option without sacrificing feel or torsional control. The parallel 0.370" tip fits the widest range of hybrid heads across all major OEM adapters. Best described as the ideal bridge between a player's iron set and their fairway woods — delivering consistent feel and feedback across the bag.
Compared to the MMT Utility Iron Shaft (0.355" tapered tip, designed specifically for driving iron and utility iron builds), the MMT Hybrid's parallel 0.370" tip and lighter 60-series weight class makes it the more accessible, versatile option for standard hybrid heads across a broader range of swing speeds. Compared to the TENSEI 1K Black Hybrid (low launch, low spin, significantly stiffer construction), the MMT Hybrid is a more forgiving, balanced option for players who want steel-like feedback without the demanding, low-launching profile of the 1K Black. Players who want similar hybrid performance but with a more traditional graphite feel and no metal mesh construction should consider the C6 '22 Black Hybrid or the Kai'li White Hybrid instead.

Who it’s best for? MMT™ Hybrids are perfect for better players who want to leverage the benefits of both steel and composite to create the perfect ‘hybrid’ bridge between irons and metals.
Metal Mesh Technology (MMT™) integrates a unique metal mesh – made from individually braided strands of 304 Stainless Steel, into the shafts prepreg layers. It improves density and stability, while also allowing for thinner overall composite wall construction. Together this yields a finely tuned, highly responsive shaft that still provides the consistent launch and spin control needed for effective iron play.
Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
What's the launch and spin on the MMT Hybrid?
Mid-launch, mid-spin. The metal mesh tip section increases stability and directional control compared to pure graphite. It's available in 60–100 series (weight), multiple flexes per series. Players typically notice tighter dispersion and more consistent distance control versus a standard graphite hybrid shaft.
-
What flex should I order?
Many players go one flex softer than your driver shaft. Hybrids generate less speed than drivers so the shaft loads differently, a Stiff driver player usually plays Regular in a hybrid. Use this as your guide: A-Flex (Senior) for under 75mph, R-Flex for 75–85mph, S-Flex for 85–95mph, X or TX for 95mph+. If your on the high end and/or swing with a quick tempo, you may also want to go stiffer.
-
What's special about the MMT Hybrid compared to a regular graphite hybrid shaft?
The metal mesh. Mitsubishi integrates a section of metal mesh into the tip, it adds weight and stability right where you need it in a hybrid head. The result is something in between steel feel and graphite weight. You get the solid impact feel and spin control of steel with the lighter swing weight of graphite. Better players who switch from steel hybrid shafts to the MMT usually don't miss the steel feel at all.
