WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Ventus Blue with VeloCore+ is a mid-launch, low-spin driver shaft and the most played shaft in the Ventus family, built for golfers with swing speeds between 85 and 110 mph who want a consistent, penetrating ball flight with the face-stabilizing benefits of VeloCore+ technology. The tip is ultra-stiff, the mid is stiff and the handle stays firm, which is the combination that has made it the go-to shaft for everyone from mid-handicappers to PGA Tour professionals. You pick the weight and flex from 14 options, and it arrives with your adapter tip and grip installed, cut to length, ready to screw into your driver or fairway wood.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing between 85 and 110 mph and want less spin without giving up the launch you need to carry it
  • Hit it fine on the range but lose it right or left when it counts, and want a shaft that holds the face
  • Play a Ventus Blue that came stock in your driver and want the real aftermarket version with VeloCore+
  • Want a shaft proven at the highest level of professional golf, built to your specs and ready on arrival

Not the right fit if you...

  • Swing under about 85 mph or already launch it too low to carry. The Ventus Red gives you more height, and the Ventus White is the lightweight option
  • Swing 110+ mph and need every bit of spin gone. Step up to the Ventus Black
  • Have an aggressive transition and want the Blue profile with Spread Tow in the mid and handle. That's the 2026 Ventus TR Blue
  • Build your own clubs and just want the raw shaft. Grab the uncut Ventus Blue and save the build time

How It Plays

Stable without feeling like a board. The firm handle lets you load it through transition, then the stiff tip takes over and holds the face square. Golfers who come off a softer stock shaft usually tell us the miss got smaller before anything else changed. Once you trust it, you stop steering and start swinging through the ball again.

Mid launch, low spin, right in the middle of the family. Red launches higher with more spin and Black flies lower and flatter. Blue sits between them with a mid bend point, so it doesn't need perfect timing to work. That's why it fits more swings and tempos than either sibling.

The core is the whole point. VeloCore+ is a multi-material bias core that runs the length of the shaft and keeps the tip from twisting on off-center hits. The plus version adds another core material over the original VeloCore, and the goal is the same: tighter dispersion and a little more ball speed on the hits that aren't flush.

Before you pick your options

  • Weight before flex. Each series step adds 7 to 10 g. If your current driver shaft is in the low 60s, start with the Blue 6. When you want more stability, go up a series before you go up a flex. The heavier shaft calms the head without making the whole club feel stiff.
  • The 5 R2 is the odd one. It drops to a low-mid bend point with mid spin and mid-high launch, on purpose, so slower swings still get the ball up. A smooth R flex player at 90 mph is better off in the 5 R.
  • Length is measured adapter tip to grip. The number you pick is the shaft assembly with no head on it. Choose the standard length option for your brand and you get that brand's stock playing length. For a custom length, remember the head adds roughly an inch, so a driver you want to play at 45.25" is about a 44.25" tip-to-grip build. Every half inch you take off costs about three swingweight points, so if you go shorter than stock, tell us and we can add tape under the grip or you can plan a heavier head weight.

Ventus Black Low Low High Ultra-stiff / Stiff / Ultra-stiff 59.5 to 93 g 95+ mph

Launch, spin, bend point and section stiffness are Fujikura's ratings. The speed column is our fitting guidance from building these for customers, not a Fujikura number. Want the Blue profile with Spread Tow fabric in the mid and handle? That's the assembled 2026 Ventus TR Blue. The whole brand lineup is in The Fujikura Shaft Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same Ventus Blue that came stock in my driver?

Probably not. Most stock "Ventus Blue" shafts that ship in OEM drivers are made-for versions without VeloCore, and they play softer and spin more than this one. This is the full aftermarket shaft with VeloCore+. The launch window is similar, but the stability through impact is a different experience, and that's the part customers tell us they notice first.

I swing about 93 mph. Is the 5 S right, or should I be in the R?

You're right on the line, so go by your transition. A quick, aggressive move from the top wants the S. A smooth tempo at the same speed is usually happier in the R. If you already have the 5 S, play it before you second-guess it. Watch for a ball flight that starts low and leaks right (for a right-hander). That's the sign it's too stiff for you.

I want it half an inch shorter than stock. What length do I order?

Our length dropdown is measured from the adapter tip to the end of the grip, with no head on it. The standard length option for your brand is that brand's stock length, so for half an inch shorter, pick a custom length half an inch under that number. If you'd rather tell us the finished playing length you want, contact us with your head model and we'll work out the tip-to-grip number, since the head adds length (about an inch on most drivers).

I'm left-handed. Is anything different about the build?

Nothing about the shaft itself. It isn't handed, and the specs and performance are identical. The only difference is the adapter: some brands make a separate left-handed sleeve, and we install the right one for your head. Just pick your brand and we'll take it from there.

Does an average golfer actually get anything out of a Ventus?

Yes, if you care about where the ball ends up. You don't need a scratch handicap to feel the stability. Think of it as guardrails: it never feels whippy or hard to control, and the misses stay in play. The one group we talk out of it is true beginners, only because of the price. If your swing is still changing every month, wait on the shaft.

Can I use this in a fairway wood?

Yes. Choose the fairway wood option and your adapter when you add it to the cart. Most golfers go one series heavier in the fairway than in the driver, so a Blue 6 driver player usually ends up with a Blue 7 or 8 in the 3 wood. The 9 X is a 7 or 9 wood shaft.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.
