Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Need help getting the ball in the air but don't want a loose tip
  • Swing up to 105 mph (Mitsubishi fits R2 under 80 mph and S up to 105)
  • Like a firm handle with a softer feel through the middle
  • Want a light build (the 40 R2 weighs 49 g)

Not the right fit if you...

  • Swing over 105 mph (the C6 Red fit chart stops at 105)
  • Already launch it high (Mitsubishi rates the C6 Blue mid+ launch)
  • Need X flex (the Red we build tops out at S)

How It Plays

Mitsubishi rates the C6 Red high launch and mid+ spin, with a firm butt, medium mid and medium+ tip, and a mid kick point on every build. The firm handle and softer middle give it some feel without making the tip loose.

The tip uses Mitsubishi's TiNi (titanium nickel) wire, set at a 45-degree angle. Titanium nickel is a memory metal that works to return to its resting shape, and Mitsubishi uses it to keep the tip from ovalizing under load so the face returns to impact square more easily.

Mitsubishi sells the C6 Red only in the aftermarket, so it isn't a stock shaft in new drivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which flex should I pick?

Mitsubishi's driver chart: 40 R2 or 50 R2 under 80 mph; 50 R or 60 R from 81 to 90 mph; 50 S, 60 S or 70 S from 91 to 105 mph.

What does the TiNi wire do?

It's a titanium nickel wire in the tip, set at 45 degrees. Mitsubishi uses it to keep the tip from ovalizing under load, which helps the face return square at impact.

How is the C6 Red different from the C6 Blue?

Mitsubishi rates the Red high launch and mid+ spin and the Blue mid+ launch and mid spin. The Blue has a softer tip and is made up to X flex, while the Red stops at S.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM-compatible adapter tip installed (Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson; see all shaft adapters) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Hi! I am looking to order a shaft (with Ping adapter) for a Ping 7-wood. Would like the club to play at standard length a for Ping 7 wood, 42". Do you know what to enter in "adapter tip to grip fairway shaft length" field?

Here are steps to measure your existing shaft for "Adapter tip to grip" length (which is what our club-builders need specified):

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    - Unscrew bottom screw/bolt from club head

    - Remove the club head from the shaft

    - Lay the shaft on a flat surface

    - Measure from the bottom of the adapter tip to the end of the grip in inches

If you are unable to do this measurement, or do not have an existing shaft there to measure just let us know and we will find a way to help.
