WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The KBS TGI (Tour Graphite Iron) is built on the same EI curve as KBS Tour steel, so KBS says it plays like steel in a graphite shaft. This listing is the 0.370" parallel-tip version, a 41" single-length shaft in four weights: 50 g (Lite/A, silver gloss), 60 g, 70 g and 80 g (black matte). Each weight has its own flex.

Before you order: each shaft is one 41" length that gets tip- and butt-trimmed for the iron it goes in, and KBS notes that trimming can change how it plays. Order one per club, or let our Retrofit Service cut and install them.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want graphite that feels and plays like KBS Tour steel
  • Want to pick by weight: each TGI weight comes with its own flex
  • Have irons with a 0.370" parallel-tip hosel
  • Want a lighter shaft, from 50 g to 80 g

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want a shaft made for each iron with no tip trimming: the TGI 0.355" comes in 60 to 110 g taper tips
  • Want more launch and spin for a slower swing: look at the KBS Max Graphite 0.370"
  • Swing fast enough for a heavier graphite or steel shaft above 80 g
  • Are not sure which tip your irons take: take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz first

How It Plays

Steel-like play. KBS designed the TGI with the same EI curve as its KBS Tour steel shaft, aiming for steel-like playability, shot control and performance in graphite.

Weight sets the flex. KBS pairs each weight with a flex: 50 g Lite/A, 60 g Regular, 70 g Regular+ and 80 g Stiff in the 0.370" parallel version. KBS says the range covers players from juniors to women to tour professionals.

Single length, trimmed to fit. The parallel TGI is one 41" length that is tip- and butt-trimmed to each iron. KBS lists it for the 1-iron to pitching wedge.

Will It Fit Your Irons?

This shaft is for irons with a 0.370" parallel-tip hosel. It is a single-length shaft that is tip- and butt-trimmed for each iron, so order one shaft per club; KBS notes a 3-iron to PW set is 8 shafts. Trimming can change how the shaft plays, so follow KBS's trimming instructions or have it done for you.

Not sure which tip your irons take? Take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz, or let us cut and install them with our Retrofit Service. For 0.355" taper-tip irons, get the TGI 0.355" instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which TGI weight should I choose?

The TGI has no separate flex option: the weight sets the flex. Our fitting guide: 50 g for swing speeds of 50 mph or less, 60 g for 51 to 60 mph, 70 g for 61 to 70 mph and 80 g for 71 to 80 mph. Contact us if you are between weights.

Why is the 50 g a different colour?

KBS makes the 0.370" 50 g Lite/A in silver gloss; the 60, 70 and 80 g are black matte.

Does trimming change how it plays?

Yes. KBS notes that the parallel TGI is tip- and butt-trimmed to length and that trimming can change how the shaft plays. Follow KBS's trimming instructions or use our Retrofit Service.

0.370" or 0.355" TGI?

Same KBS Tour EI curve. The 0.370" is a single 41" length trimmed for each iron; the 0.355" taper version is made for each iron and comes in heavier weights up to 110 g.

Why is the KBS label not on my shaft, and why does the black finish vary slightly?

KBS ships its shaft labels separately so they can be put on during club assembly and lined up properly, and a plain white factory SKU label may be on the shaft until then. Black KBS finishes are hand-sprayed, so small cosmetic differences from shaft to shaft are normal.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • how do I make sure that i am buying a senior shaft in graphite 50gram weight

Yes the 50g shaft is senior.

  • IS THIS SHAFT FOR A 6 IRON?

You can use this for any iron length.  Just butt cut to desired length.

  • Which one of these is stiff flex? 70g?

hi!  Take your driver swingspeed and divide is by 1.2 to match it to the iron swing speed chart for the correct flex.

Per our calculation the 80g is going to be closer to Stiff.  We will reach to KBS for clarification.
