Will this shaft fit your irons?

Check before you buy. Takes about 20 seconds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The KBS PGI (Players Graphite Iron) was designed by KBS master shaft maker Kim Braly to give the tight tolerances, dispersion and control of KBS Tour steel in a lighter, easier-to-swing graphite shaft. This listing is the 0.355" taper-tip version, made for each iron, in 70 g Regular+, 80 g Stiff or 90 g Stiff+, finished in black matte.

Before you order: each shaft is made for one iron, so order one per club. See How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want graphite that plays with the control of a steel shaft
  • Want a players graphite shaft from 70 to 90 g
  • Have irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel
  • Are any level, from beginner to low handicap: KBS built the PGI to fit a wide range of players

Not the right fit if you...

  • Want lighter weights, 50 or 60 g, or heavier, 100 g: the PGI 0.370" comes in six weights
  • Want graphite built on the KBS Tour steel EI curve: see the TGI 0.355"
  • Have irons with a 0.370" parallel tip: get the PGI 0.370"
  • Are not sure which tip your irons take: take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz first

How It Plays

Steel-like control. KBS says the PGI holds the same tight tolerances, dispersion and control as the KBS Tour steel shaft, at a lighter weight that is easier to swing.

Weight sets the flex. Each PGI weight has its own flex pattern. The taper version comes in 70 g Regular+, 80 g Stiff and 90 g Stiff+.

Made for each iron. The taper PGI is sold by iron, from 36" to 39.5" raw, for the 2-iron to the sand wedge, all in black matte.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which PGI weight should I choose?

The PGI has no separate flex option: each weight comes with its own flex, 70 g Regular+, 80 g Stiff or 90 g Stiff+. KBS does not publish a swing-speed chart for the PGI, so contact us or take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz if you are unsure.

How much does it weigh?

KBS lists three taper weights: 70, 80 and 90 g.

0.355" or 0.370" PGI?

The 0.355" taper version is made for each iron and comes in 70, 80 and 90 g. The 0.370" is a single 41" length trimmed for each iron, in six weights from 50 to 100 g.

PGI or TGI?

Both are KBS graphite iron shafts. KBS designed the PGI for the tolerances, dispersion and control of KBS Tour steel at a lighter weight; the TGI is built on the EI curve of KBS Tour steel and comes in more weights, 60 to 110 g.

Why is the KBS label not on my shaft, and why does the black finish vary slightly?

KBS ships its shaft labels separately so they can be put on during club assembly and lined up properly, and a plain white factory SKU label may be on the shaft until then. Black KBS finishes are hand-sprayed, so small cosmetic differences from shaft to shaft are normal.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • What is the tip diameter for Cleveland RTZ wedges

Cleveland wedges have traditionally used a .355 taper tip shaft, so in almost all cases the KBS PGI you'd want for your RTZ wedges is the .355 taper tip version.

  • How is the PGi different from the TGi line?

Both are graphite iron shafts from KBS, but aimed at slightly different players. The TGI is lighter, higher-launching, and very smooth, great if you want the weight savings of graphite without giving up consistency. The PGI is built to feel more like steel: a bit heavier, firmer, with more feedback at impact and a lower, more penetrating ball flight. It's really graphite for someone who always thought they were a steel shaft person. If you have questions, please reach out to our team for more assistance!

  • I'm 68 and a 3 index. Driver speed is 102. Previous irons had KDS steel 120 g shafts. Too stiff for me now. Would the 90 gram work for me?

That's a great question, and it sounds like you're very in tune with your game! Given your age, handicap, and driver speed, along with the fact that your previous 120g steel shafts now feel too stiff, moving to a lighter and potentially more flexible shaft is a logical consideration.
