The Fujikura Pro Blue is the easier-launching of the two 2024 Pro profiles, a low-mid bend point, mid-spin shaft that launches mid-high in the 50 series and mid in the 60 and 70. It's built from lower-resin materials with an Advanced Bend Profile, which puts stiffness at specific spots inside each section instead of stiffening the whole section, so it loads smoothly and still holds the face through impact. You pick from 8 weight and flex options, 50 R2 to 70 X, and it arrives with your adapter tip and grip installed, cut to length, ready to screw into your driver or fairway wood.

How It Plays

Smooth to load, with the stiffness where it counts. The Advanced Bend Profile adds stiffness at chosen points within a section rather than across the whole thing. In your hands that means the handle and mid bend when you want them to, then the tip holds up at the bottom. It's a shaft that's easy to time without the loose, whippy feel a softer profile usually brings.

The launch moves with the weight. The 50 series is mid-high launch and the 60 and 70 series are mid. Spin stays mid across the board, and the bend point stays low-mid. If your flight is already decent and you just want a smoother shaft, the 60 series keeps the window where it is. If you need more height, the 50 series gives it to you without piling on spin.

Torque opens up as the shaft gets lighter. It runs from 5.0 degrees in the 50 R2 down to 3.6 in the 70 X. The lighter, softer builds let the head release a little more freely, which is what a slower swing needs. The 70 S and 70 X tighten that back up for a faster move.

Before you pick your options

  • Weight before flex. The jump from 50 to 60 is about 6 g, and 60 to 70 is about 10 g. Match your current driver shaft weight first, then pick the flex. If the ball starts low and leaks right for a right-hander, you went too stiff, not too heavy.
  • The 50 R2 is the only senior flex in the whole Pro line. It's also the softest and lightest option at 56 g. A smooth-tempo golfer at 85 mph is usually happier in the 50 R or 60 R than in the R2.
  • Length is measured adapter tip to grip. The number you pick is the shaft assembly with no head on it. Choose the standard length option for your brand and you get that brand's stock playing length. For a custom length, remember the head adds roughly an inch, so a driver you want to play at 45.25" is about a 44.25" tip-to-grip build. Every half inch you take off costs about three swingweight points, so if you go shorter than stock, tell us and we can add tape under the grip or you can plan a heavier head weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which series matches my swing speed?

Our rule of thumb: the 50 series (R2, R, S) for about 75 to 95 mph, the 60 series (R, S, X) for 85 to 105 mph, and the 70 series (S, X) for 100 to 110 mph. Those bands overlap on purpose. If you're in the overlap, a quick transition sends you to the heavier series and a smooth one keeps you in the lighter. Fujikura publishes no speed range for the Pro line, so treat this as our guidance, not theirs.

Pro Blue or Ventus Blue?

Both sit in the middle of their families, but they get there differently. The Ventus Blue is mid launch and low spin with a mid bend point and a multi-material core that keeps the tip from twisting on heel and toe hits. The Pro Blue is mid-high to mid launch with mid spin and a low-mid bend point, so it launches a touch higher and spins a bit more. If your misses are mostly off the center of the face, the Ventus core is built for that. If you strike it well and want a little more height, the Pro Blue is the one.

I want it half an inch shorter than stock. What length do I order?

Our length dropdown is measured from the adapter tip to the end of the grip, with no head on it. The standard length option for your brand is that brand's stock length, so for half an inch shorter, pick a custom length half an inch under that number. If you'd rather tell us the finished playing length you want, contact us with your head model and we'll work out the tip-to-grip number, since the head adds length (about an inch on most drivers).

Can I use this in a fairway wood?

Yes. Choose the fairway wood option and your adapter when you add it to the cart. The 70 series is the natural 3 wood weight, and a 60 S driver player usually ends up in the 70 S for the fairway. If you play a 50 in the driver, the 60 X makes a lighter fairway build that still feels settled.

I'm left-handed. Is anything different about the build?

Nothing about the shaft itself. It isn't handed, and the specs and performance are identical. The only difference is the adapter: some brands make a separate left-handed sleeve, and we install the right one for your head. Just pick your brand and we'll take it from there.
