WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura 2026 Ventus TR Blue with VeloCore+ is the sweet spot of the Ventus TR lineup: a mid-launch, low-spin shaft built for golfers with swing speeds between 85 and 110 mph who want control and stability without the unforgiving feel of the TR Black. The most versatile profile in the TR family and one of the most played shafts on Tour. Spread Tow carbon fabric in the mid and handle cuts the twisting that happens when you go hard from the top, and the VeloCore+ core keeps the tip from turning on off-center hits. You pick the weight and flex from 11 options, and it arrives with your adapter tip and grip installed, cut to length, ready to screw into your driver or fairway wood.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing between 85 and 110 mph with a quick or aggressive transition
  • Want less spin without giving up the launch you need to carry it
  • Play a standard Ventus Blue and feel it get loose at the top, or want tighter dispersion on the hits that aren't flush
  • Want a flight that holds its line in wind, built to your specs and ready on arrival

Not the right fit if you...

  • Swing under about 85 mph or already struggle to get height. The TR Red launches higher and has the softest tip in the TR line
  • Swing 110+ mph and still see too much spin and height. Step up to the TR Black
  • Have a very smooth tempo and never load the handle, so you'd pay for stability you won't use. The Ventus Blue VeloCore+ is the softer-handled pick
  • Build your own clubs and just want the raw shaft. Grab the uncut TR Blue and save the build time

How It Plays

Same flight as Blue, less twist. Every option in the table is mid launch, low spin, with a mid bend point. What changes is the mid and handle. Spread Tow is a flat carbon fabric that resists twisting through transition, so you can load it hard without the face getting away from you. It feels firmer in the hands than a standard Blue. A smooth tempo may never notice. A quick one notices on the first swing.

Where it sits in the TR family. The TR Red launches higher with more spin and a softer tip, and the TR Black flies lower with the firmest tip of the three. Compare tip flex in the 6 S: Red 96, Blue 94, Black 87, and the number drops as the tip gets stiffer. Blue sits in the middle, which is why it fits more swings than either sibling.

The core is the whole point. VeloCore+ is a multi-material bias core that runs the length of the shaft and keeps the tip from twisting on off-center hits. The plus version adds another bias core material over the original VeloCore, and the goal is the same: tighter dispersion and a little more ball speed on the hits that aren't flush.

Before you pick your options

  • Weight before flex. Each series step adds about 8 to 10 g. If your current driver shaft is in the low 60s, start with the TR Blue 5. Mid to high 60s, the 6. When you want more stability, go up a series before you go up a flex. The heavier shaft calms the head without making the whole club feel stiff.
  • TX is not a half step. The 6 TX and 7 TX have butt flex ratings of 70 and 66, against 76 and 72 in the X. That's a Tour-stiff handle. Unless you're an X flex player who still feels the handle give through transition, stay in the X.
  • Length is measured adapter tip to grip. The number you pick is the shaft assembly with no head on it. Choose the standard length option for your brand and you get that brand's stock playing length. For a custom length, remember the head adds roughly an inch, so a driver you want to play at 45.25" is about a 44.25" tip-to-grip build. Every half inch you take off costs about three swingweight points, so if you go shorter than stock, tell us and we can add tape under the grip or you can plan a heavier head weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the step up from the original TR Blue to the VeloCore+ version noticeable?

It depends on how often you miss the center. The flight is the same: both generations are mid launch, low spin, and the chart numbers nearly overlap (the 6 S is 94 tip and 82 butt in both). VeloCore+ adds another bias core material, so the tip resists twisting better on heel and toe strikes and the dispersion tightens. The feel is a touch firmer through the swing. If you flush it every time, the difference is subtle and your current TR Blue is fine. If you catch a few a groove off, you'll notice.

I want my mini driver half an inch shorter than stock. What length do I order?

Our length dropdown is measured from the adapter tip to the end of the grip, with no head on it. Pick a custom length half an inch under your head's stock tip-to-grip number. For a Titleist GT280 mini, for example, the stock club plays 43.5", so a 42.5" tip-to-grip build finishes at about 43.0" with the head on. Not sure of your head's number? Contact us with the model and we'll work it out before you order.

I swing about 95 mph. Is that the 5 S, the 6 S or the R?

Go by your transition. A quick, aggressive move from the top wants the S, and the 6 S if your current shaft is in the mid 60s. A smooth tempo at 95 is usually happier in the 5 R. This shaft already has a firm handle, so when you're on the fence, take the softer flex and the heavier weight rather than the other way around. If the ball starts low and leaks right for a right-hander, it's too stiff.

Can I use this in a fairway wood?

Yes. Choose the fairway wood option and your adapter when you add it to the cart. Most golfers go one series heavier in the fairway than in the driver, so a TR Blue 6 driver player usually ends up with a 7 or 8 in the 3 wood. The 9 X is the one we'd put in a 7 or 9 wood.

I'm left-handed. Is anything different about the build?

Nothing about the shaft itself. It isn't handed, and the specs and performance are identical. The only difference is the adapter: some brands make a separate left-handed sleeve, and we install the right one for your head. Just pick your brand and we'll take it from there.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.
