Due to the long length of the tapered section, will the swing weight remain unchanged? I need to add 3/4” to a set of irons. Also, do you know the ID of the Ping AWT steel shafts? A few sources said 0.600, but not sure if they are correct.
You will need to contact Ping about the ID on the steel shafts.
By increasing the length of the golf shaft by one-half inch, the swingweight will be increased by three swingweight points (increase from D2 to D5, for example). Conversely, by decreasing the length of the golf shaft by one-half inch, the swingweight will be decreased by three swingweight points. The length will be increased on the butt end (not the tapered tip section). -
What extension do I need for the armlock putter grip. I’ve got a standard putter. And want to do the armlock grip
The Armlock putter grip has a 0.580" core size, so you'll want to choose that size for the extension as well: https://www.grips4less.com/products/stainless-steel-extensions-for-steel-shafts?variant=211349933

I have True Temper XP 105 shafts wanting to have them extended. What extension size shafts are needed. Thanks
Some XP shafts have a slightly larger diameter, but in general most will match with the 0.600" size extension.

I have bought extensions from you before but this time, I need to extend my TT DG X100 Steel Shafts. What do I get? .580? .600?
Dynamic Gold shafts have butt end 0.600, so go with the matching extension size.

How many inches of the tapered part of the extension is proper? I am extending by about 1.5”. Should the tapered side be trimmed to 1.5” as well? Thank You! By the way, I must say, you guys are machines! Item arrived 2 days earlier than expected! Awesome!👌🏼
The shaft extension comes as a double length, meaning you'll need to cut it half. Once cut, the taper portion is 3" (the total extension will be 6", meaning you can extend up to 3" in total length for the shaft).
You do not need to trim the tapered portion, just the outside 3" portion. Let us know if you have any questions! :)

What steel shaft extension do I need for a DG Wedge Flex Shaft? .58? .60?
Most True Temper shafts are 0.600" diameter (to be sure, you could check the specs on their website), and thus you'd need the same measurements for the extension (0.600").
-
can you use steel extenders in composite shafts
Yes, as long as the fit properly (the butt diameter is matching the tip size).
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Shaft butt extensions for steel shafts
- Increase the lengths of your clubs
- Choose from .580" or .600" diameter
- Comes as a double length (requires cutting in half to produce 2 extensions)
SPECIFICATIONS
- Total Length (after cut in half): 6" (3" tapered portion, goes inside the shaft + 3" outside extension)
- Diameter: 0.580" or 0.600"
FULL DESCRIPTION
Use these shaft butt extensions for steel shafts to extend shafts and increase the length of clubs. The extensions are double length. When cut in two, each section has an end tapered (3") to fit inside the shaft being extended, allowing you to extend up to 3" of the shaft in total length.
HOW TO USE
First you'll need to measure the INSIDE diameter (ID) of the butt end of the shaft (not the outside). This will determine the size extension you need.
Due to slight variations in shaft diameters, you will likely need to apply light sanding to the shaft extension to achieve a suitable fit.
Next, we recommend using high strength shafting epoxy to secure the extension into butt end of the shaft and then cut to length once epoxy is cured.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Improperly installed extenders can cause parts of the club to come loose and fly off. This can cause damage, serious injury, or even death. If you are not sure on how to install extensions properly, please consult a local club-building professional.
