The TENSEI™ 1K Black Series Hybrid (mid launch/mid spin) – This hybrid Series, designed to complement the TENSEI™ 1K Black Wood Series, adds Aluminum Vapor Coated Fiber in the grip area to increase stability and stiffness in the profile. Compared to the TENSEI™ CK Blue Hybrid Series, this shaft design is slightly lighter in overall weight and optimizes the placement of the AV weave, which is tighter and thinner than the CK Weave, to further minimize shaft ovaling and improve energy transfer.
The TENSEI 1K Black Hybrid is the lowest launching, lowest spinning shaft in the Mitsubishi hybrid lineup — built for players who want to eliminate the ballooning, high-spinning ball flight that makes hybrids hard to control into greens or into the wind. Built on Mitsubishi's premium 1K carbon fiber construction, it features a super-stiff tip section that keeps spin rates low and the head stable through impact, a firm mid section for consistency, and a medium-stiffness handle for smooth loading. Best suited for swing speeds of 95 mph and above who want hybrid performance that behaves more like a long iron than a traditional hybrid.
Compared to the TENSEI AV Series White Hybrid (also low launch but with a more accessible feel and slightly softer construction), the 1K Black is the more demanding option — rewarding players with fast, aggressive swings who generate too much spin with standard hybrid shafts. Compared to the Kai'li White Hybrid (low spin, high kick point), the 1K Black produces a flatter, more penetrating trajectory with less tip activity. Players who want the TENSEI 1K platform but need slightly more height and spin should consider stepping up to the TENSEI 1K Pro Blue Hybrid instead.
