WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura 2026 Ventus TR Red with VeloCore+ is the highest-launching, most forgiving shaft in the Ventus TR lineup. Built for golfers with swing speeds between 70-105 mph who want help getting the ball in the air, consistent spin, and the face-stabilizing benefits of VeloCore+ technology without the stiff, demanding feel of the Blue or Black profiles. Arrives fully assembled with your adapter and grip installed. Plug it in and play.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing between 70-95 mph (R2, R, or S flex) or 95-110 mph wanting mid-high launch (X flex, 6-9 series)
  • Tend to launch too low or struggle to carry the ball
  • Want a shaft that loads smoothly without fighting you
  • Play a 7-wood or 9-wood and want a shaft that handles higher-lofted heads
  • Tried the Ventus Blue or Black and found them too stiff or low-launching

Not the right fit if you...

  • Already launch too high or carry too much spin -- look at the Ventus TR Blue instead
  • Swing 110+ mph and need to actively reduce spin and ball flight -- the TR Black X is a better call

How It Plays

The TR Red loads early and smoothly -- one of the more player-friendly shafts in the entire Ventus family. The tip section is the softest in the TR lineup, which promotes an upward, high-energy ball flight through impact without requiring you to force it. VeloCore+ -- Fujikura's multi-material bias core technology -- keeps the clubhead stable at impact, so even off-center strikes hold their line better than you'd expect from a softer-tip shaft.

The Spread Tow material in the mid and handle sections adds stiffness where it matters most: through the transition and into the downswing. That's what separates the TR Red from a generic senior or regular flex shaft. Active at the tip. Stable everywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the Ventus TR Red designed for?

The R2 and R flex options are best for swing speeds between 70-85 mph. Regular (R) works well from 80-95 mph. Stiff fits roughly 90-105 mph. X flex options in the 6 through 9 series suit faster swingers who still want a mid-high launch profile rather than the low flight of the TR Blue or Black.

What's the difference between the Ventus TR Red and the standard Ventus Red?

The TR version adds Spread Tow material in the mid and handle sections, which stabilizes the shaft through the swing and reduces unwanted twisting at impact. VeloCore+ upgrades the internal core construction for better face control on off-center strikes. The TR plays a touch lower in launch and spin profile as the original Red, and has a more refined feel and tighter dispersion.

Is the TR Red a good choice for fairway woods?

Yes -- it's one of the better options for 7-woods and 9-woods specifically. The softer tip promotes the higher launch you need from high-lofted fairway heads, and VeloCore+ keeps the face stable on mishits. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart.

Why are there so many Ventus models? How do I pick?

Fujikura built the Ventus line to cover a wide range of swing profiles -- not just swing speeds. Red launches highest and plays softest, ideal if you need help in the air. Blue is the mid-launch workhorse for most mid-to-fast swingers. Black is low and stiff, built for faster players keeping spin in check. The TR versions add refined tip sections and Spread Tow stability across all three. VeloCore+ adds the multi-material core that tightens dispersion on off-center strikes.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM adapter tip installed (TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Cobra, Titleist, Mizuno, PXG, or Wilson) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • Why are there so many Ventus models? How do I choose?

So Fujikura built the Ventus line to cover a wide range of swing profiles, not just swing speeds.

The three core models, Blue, Black, and Red, each have a distinct feel and flight. Blue is the mid-launch workhorse. Black is low and stiff, built for faster swingers who need to keep spin in check. Red launches higher and plays softer, ideal for players who need a little more help in the air.

The TR (Tour Revised) versions took player feedback and tightened everything up with slightly lower launch/spin to their respective non-TR models + refined tip sections. They're the go-to for serious fitters. VeloCore+ is the flagship material that adds a multi-material core construction that stabilizes the face at impact, so even off-center strikes hold their line better. It's a noticeable upgrade if you're chasing tighter dispersion.

  • What's the best low launch low spin shaft? I play an X-Stiff older Tensei right now

Hard to say without seeing your launch/spin and swing techniques.

If you're gaming an X-Stiff Tensei, you're likely a faster swinger who wants a mid-butt, stiff tip feel. Tensei is known for being relatively smooth and mid-launching for an X, so "low launch low spin" might mean you want to go stiffer/lower than what you have, or the Tensei just isn't quite doing it for you.

Some popular launch launch/spin shafts that we recommend are:

    • Ventus Black TR - one of the more aggressive low/low options, very tip-stiff
    • Mitsubishi WB - Tour favorite with highly controlled spin
    • Project X HZRDUS Black - firm throughout, low ball flight
    • Mitsubishi Kai'li White - low launch, lower spin, a little smoother feel than the others

  • How is this different from the original Ventus TR, wondering if I should upgrade?

The VeloCore+ version keeps the same mid/high launch and spin profile as the original TR Red, so the flight characteristics aren’t changing. What’s new is the addition of Spread Tow material paired with the updated VeloCore+ core construction, which brings more stability through the swing, tighter dispersion, and better energy transfer. It also sits slightly softer in the mid and tip sections compared to the TR Blue, so it’s the most player-friendly option in the TR lineup. Think of it as the same shaft you know but with a more refined, stable feel and better performance on off-center hits.
