Utilizing a new Dual Torsional Design throughout the shaft, HZRDUS Black Gen 4 creates optimized torques and maximum stability while featuring the classic HZRDUS Black profile of stiff butt, x-stiff midsection and stiff tip, suited for an aggressive swing.
Dual Torsional Design is a proprietary process that allows our engineers more freedom when designing a golf shaft—allowing them to dial in stability and desired torques more efficiently, producing a fully optimized golf shaft with regards to player profile.
HZRDUS is designed to deliver insane distance to the stronger and more aggressive golfer, without sacrificing distance and control.
HZRDUS Black delivers insane distance for the stronger and more aggressive golfer, without sacrificing control. The shaft features increased stiffness along the full length of the golf shaft, which allows golfers to put more power behind the ball.

What's the launch and spin?
The HZRDUS Black Gen 4 is a low launch, low spin driver shaft built for players with fast swing speeds and aggressive tempos who need to control ball flight and keep spin down. It uses Dual Torsional Design — a construction process that allows Project X to achieve its desired torque and torsional stability without the harsh, boardy feel that earlier HZRDUS Black generations were known for. The result is a shaft that delivers the signature HZRDUS stability profile but with a noticeably smoother, more solid feel than Gen 1 through RDX. Available in 60, 70, and 80 series weights across multiple flexes from 5.5 through TX.

How does this shaft compare to TENSEI 1K Black?
TENSEI 1K Black is Mitsubishi's most aggressive low-launch, low-spin driver shaft — often described as the closest Mitsubishi equivalent to Ventus Black in terms of profile intent. Compared to HZRDUS Black Gen 4, the 1K Black is generally described as smoother and more refined in feel, with less perceptible kick through the swing. HZRDUS Black Gen 4 has a slightly more active feel and a bit more energy through transition. Both are built for fast swingers needing low spin. If you prefer a shaft that feels smooth and gets out of the way, lean toward 1K Black. If you want more feedback and a shaft you can feel working, lean toward HZRDUS Black Gen 4.

What flex and weight should I choose?
As a general starting point: Senior flex range is around 72-83mph, Regular flex suits swing speeds between 84-96mph, Stiff suits 97–104 mph, and X-Stiff is typically above that. However, flex alone doesn't tell the whole story - tempo, transition aggressiveness, and launch needs all factor in. Doing a full fitting can be tremendously helpful.
