WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The Fujikura Speeder NX Gold is a mid-launch, mid-low spin driver shaft built for golfers with swing speeds between 80-105 mph who want a speed-focused shaft with a stable, connected feel. Powered by Fujikura's proprietary Variable Torque Core (VTC) technology, the NX Gold features a stiffened mid section that enhances stability and reduces launch and spin compared to the NX Violet -- without sacrificing the smooth, loaded feel the Speeder line is known for. Arrives fully assembled with your adapter and grip installed. Plug it in and play.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Swing between 80-105 mph and want mid launch with controlled spin
  • Like the feel of a shaft that loads smoothly but want more stability than a typical mid-launch option
  • Have tried the Ventus TR Blue and want something with a slightly different feel profile -- smoother loading, less tip-stiff
  • Want a speed-oriented shaft that doesn't balloon the ball
  • Play with higher MOI driver heads and want optimized energy transfer
  • Prefer a shaft with consistent stiffness from tip to butt rather than a dramatic tip/butt contrast

Not the right fit if you...

  • Swing under 80 mph -- the NX Gold will feel too demanding and under-loaded
  • Already launch too low and need more height -- the NX Violet's higher launch profile is the better call
  • Want maximum spin reduction -- the Ventus TR Black delivers lower spin than anything in the Speeder NX lineup
  • Have a very aggressive, fast tempo -- the Ventus TR lineup handles that load better

How It Plays

The NX Gold is built around feel as much as performance. The Variable Torque Core (VTC) technology is what makes the Speeder NX line unique -- instead of uniform torque from tip to butt, VTC refines twisting stiffness in specific regions along the shaft's core. The result is a shaft that responds differently at different points in the swing: smooth and compliant through the transition, firmer and more controlled through impact. It's a more nuanced feel than a traditional constant-torque shaft.

The stiffened mid section is the Gold's defining characteristic versus the NX Violet. It increases stability through the hitting zone, keeping launch and spin lower and producing a more penetrating, mid-trajectory ball flight. Players who found the NX Violet a touch too high or too spinny typically land on the Gold as their fit within the Speeder NX family.

The bend profile is stiff tip, stiff mid, stiff handle -- consistent throughout, with no dramatic soft sections. That uniformity gives the Gold a very connected, efficient feel at impact: energy transfers cleanly without the shaft getting in the way. For players who want to feel the clubhead without the shaft fighting them, it's a particularly satisfying shaft to swing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Variable Torque Core (VTC) and why does it matter?

VTC is Fujikura's proprietary technology that varies the torsional stiffness along the shaft's core rather than keeping it uniform. Traditional shafts have the same torque resistance throughout -- VTC lets Fujikura make specific sections twist more or less freely, tuned to where different players need it most in their swing. The result is a shaft that feels smoother through the transition but more stable through impact, without requiring trade-offs between feel and control.

How do I choose between the NX Gold 50, 60, and 70?

The number refers to the approximate shaft weight in grams. The 50g is best for swing speeds around 80-90 mph where a lighter shaft helps generate more clubhead speed. The 60g suits 90-100 mph and is the most versatile option in the Gold lineup. The 70g is for stronger, faster swingers around 100-110 mph who want the heavier feel and additional stability. Within each weight, choose R or SR for smoother tempos and S or X for more aggressive ones. If you're unsure, text our team before ordering.

How does the Speeder NX Gold compare to the Ventus TR Blue?

Both are mid-launch, low-spin shafts for similar swing speed ranges -- but they feel and behave differently. The Ventus TR Blue has an ultra-stiff tip and VeloCore+ face-stabilizing technology, which makes it feel very stable and controlled at impact. The NX Gold has a more uniform stiffness profile with VTC, which gives it a smoother, more connected feel through the entire swing. TR Blue is the pick if you want maximum tip stiffness and dispersion control. NX Gold is the pick if you want a more fluid, speed-focused feel without sacrificing too much spin control.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes -- select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. The NX Gold's mid-launch, controlled-spin profile works well in fairway woods for players who want consistent, penetrating ball flight from their 3-wood or 5-wood.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM adapter tip installed (TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Cobra, Titleist, Mizuno, PXG, or Wilson) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • I was fitted with a Speeder NX Violet 50 R 45 inch long shaft on a Titleist GT1 10.0 driver head set to A1. I'm 66 years old and play to a +12. I hit it higher than I would like. Went back to the fitter and he took the loft down .75, but still hit high. Would changing to a Gold or Green Speeder help? If so, would a SR be a good fit in the same weight? BTY, love the feel og the Speeder NX line.

Yes, both the Green and Gold would bring your flight down, and both come in 50g SR. The Gold has a stiffer mid section that tends to produce the most noticeable reduction in launch and spin of the two. The Gold would be our first pick if you want to tame that ball flight a touch while staying in the NX family. All the new Speeder NX's have great feel, good power.
