WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The Mitsubishi MMT Taper Iron Shaft Bundle Set is a full set of graphite composite iron shafts with a 0.355" taper tip, built with Mitsubishi's Metal Mesh Technology. Choose #3-PW (8 shafts), #4-PW (7 shafts) or #5-GW (7 shafts) in ten weight and flex options from 55 A (59 g) to 125 TX (125 g). Mitsubishi rates the MMT Taper mid launch, low spin.
Before you order: these are taper-tip shafts for irons with a 0.355" hosel. See How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work. Only need one or two clubs? Buy the MMT Taper single shaft.
What's in the Set
| Set | What you get | Available in |
|---|---|---|
| #3-PW | 8 shafts: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9-iron and PW | 85 R, 85 S, 95 S, 105 S, 105 TX, 125 S, 125 TX |
| #4-PW | 7 shafts: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9-iron and PW | All ten options |

Shafts only; club heads and grips are not included. Every shaft in a set is the same series and flex. Taper-tip shafts come with the tip already sized, and the butt end is left long so your club builder can cut each shaft to its final length. Want us to install them? See our Retrofit Service.
Who It's For
Good fit if you...
- Are reshafting a full set of irons with 0.355" taper-tip hosels
- Want what Mitsubishi describes as straighter flight and more consistent strike patterns with your irons
- Want a mid-launch, low-spin graphite iron shaft (Mitsubishi's rating)
- Want to match or step down from your current shaft weight: options run from 59 g to 125 g
Not the right fit if you...
- Have irons that take a 0.370" parallel tip: choose the MMT Parallel set instead
- Only need to replace one or two clubs: buy the MMT Taper single shaft
- Aren't sure which weight or flex to play: take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz first
How It Plays
Metal Mesh Technology (MMT). Mitsubishi builds a section of metal mesh, made from individually braided strands of 304 stainless steel, into the shaft's layers toward the tip. Mitsubishi says the mesh increases stability so the shaft consistently produces the center-face strikes needed for effective iron play.
Same build as MMT Parallel, different tip. Mitsubishi describes the MMT Taper as the relative of the matte-finished MMT Parallel: the same construction and materials, with a 0.355" taper tip and a gloss finish. Mitsubishi also says MMT Taper shafts have won multiple times on global tours.

Frequently Asked Questions
Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
I need 1" extra length on my shafts. Are these all one length so that I can cut them down to custom lengths?
Hi Scott,
Thanks for your question about the Mitsubishi MMT Taper Iron Shafts!
These shafts are not all one universal length. Instead, they are tapered tip shafts, meaning each shaft is designed and manufactured for a specific iron in the set (e.g., a #4 iron shaft, a #5 iron shaft, and so on), and comes in incrementally shorter raw lengths.
Regarding your need for 1" extra length:
Since the raw length of these MMT taper tip shafts is typically only about 0.5" longer than the standard finished playing length for that specific iron, you will indeed need to use a shaft extender (1" extension) on the butt end of each shaft during the assembly process to achieve your desired 1" longer playing length. ( or maybe order #3 shaft for #4 iron , .. etc .)
So, you should order the specific MMT shaft for each iron number you need, and then your builder will add the necessary 0.5" extension to each.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Jim

Are the shafts pured and marked so my fitter knows how to install them? Do I have to specify the length? Ex. my 7i plays at 37"
The shafts are not pured. However your fitter should be able to perform spine alignment on them before installation. Choose the shaft length that matches the iron club (ie 4-iron, 5-iron.. ), and then your fitter/builder will know to trim down the butt end to achieve final desired playing length.
-
I'm looking to reshaft a 4-GW set. Could I get the 3-PW and then just trim the 3 shaft from the butt end down to GW length?
Yes, that would work. Or you can get the 4-PW set and get an extra wedge shaft here.
