WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The JumboMax JMX ArmLock 21 is a 21" putter grip built for armlock putting. It's slightly oversize with a gradual taper, and it comes in two shapes: the Pistol (1.25", 151 g) with an oval bottom that fits your fingers, or the Round (1.18", 145 g) that lets you put your hands wherever they feel natural. We stock the Pistol in Red/White/Blue, White/Black/Silver and White/Blue/Silver, and the Round in Red/White/Blue and White/Black/Silver.

Fitting it to your putter: a 21" grip needs a longer putter so it can reach your lead forearm. It's also a natural fit on counterbalanced putters. Compare every long putter grip we carry, or see our putter shafts if you're building a new one.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Putt with an armlock and want a full 21" grip
  • Use a long or counterbalanced putter
  • Want to take wrist break out of your stroke
  • Like choosing between a pistol and a round shape

Not the right fit if you...

How It Plays

Long enough to lock in. At 21" there's plenty of grip to rest against your lead forearm with your hands still in a normal spot. Once it's locked, your lead wrist stays flat and the stroke comes from your shoulders.

Pistol or round, your call. The Pistol has a flatter top and an oval bottom that settles into your fingers, the way most putter grips feel. The Round has no flat side at all, so you can set your hands like you would on a swing grip.

Slightly oversize, gradual taper. It's a touch bigger than a standard putter grip and tapers slowly along its length, so it works with more than one grip style without feeling bulky.

Check your shaft before you install. The ArmLock 21 has a .580" round core. Most putter shafts match that, but if yours is thinner at the top (some are .560"), build it up with a couple of wraps of tape so the grip doesn't spin. At 145 to 151 g it's also a heavy grip, so expect the head to feel lighter than it did with your old one; on a counterbalanced putter that's the whole idea.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the Pistol and the Round?

The Pistol is 1.25" with a flatter top and oval bottom, and 151 g. The Round is 1.18", 145 g, and round all the way around, so you can hold it however you like.

Will it fit a .560" shaft?

The core is .580", so on a .560" shaft you'll want a couple of extra wraps of tape underneath to snug it up. Here's our guide on how to apply grip tape.

Do I need a longer putter?

For armlock, yes. The grip has to reach your lead forearm, which usually means a putter a few inches longer than standard. It also works well on counterbalanced putters.

Does it work with a counterbalanced putter?

Yes. The extra length and weight in the grip are a natural match for counterbalanced and longer putters.

How do I keep it tacky?

Wipe it down with warm, soapy water, rinse it, and let it air dry. Sweat, dirt and sunscreen are what make a grip feel slick, and a quick wash brings the tack back.
