Will this shaft fit your irons?

Check before you buy. Takes about 20 seconds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The KBS $-Taper Lite takes KBS's tour $-Taper steel shaft and puts it in a lighter frame. KBS rates it mid-high trajectory, low-mid spin while keeping the $-Taper's shot workability and tight dispersion. This listing is the 0.355" taper-tip version, sold one shaft per iron (2-iron to 9-iron/wedge) in 95 g R, 100 g S and 105 g X, in chrome or black PVD.

Before you order: each shaft is made for one iron, so order one per club. See How Tapered (0.355") Tip Shaft Lengths Work.

Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Like the $-Taper's control but want a lighter steel shaft
  • Want a little more height than the $-Taper with spin kept in check: KBS rates it mid-high trajectory, low-mid spin
  • Shape shots and want a shaft that keeps that workability
  • Have irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel and want a shaft made for each iron

Not the right fit if you...

How It Plays

$-Taper, lighter. KBS built the $-Taper Lite from its tour $-Taper shaft, keeping the KBS feel, shot workability and tight dispersion in a lighter weight.

A touch higher. KBS says the Lite flies slightly higher than the $-Taper and rates it mid-high trajectory with low-mid spin. The $-Taper itself is rated mid trajectory, low spin.

Three weights, three flexes. Regular weighs 95 g, Stiff 100 g and X-Stiff 105 g, all with a 0.600" butt, in chrome or black.

$-Taper Lite X-Stiff 105 Mid-high Low-mid

Material: steel, chrome or black finish | Tip: 0.355" taper | Butt diameter: 0.600" | Raw length: 40" to 36.5" (KBS makes it for the 2-iron to sand wedge) | Launch and spin are KBS's mid/high trajectory and low/mid spin; KBS publishes no torque or bend point | Source: KBS official $-Taper Lite specs, checked October 2026

Will It Fit Your Irons?

This shaft is for irons with a 0.355" taper-tip hosel. Order one shaft for each iron you are reshafting and pick the iron number in the dropdown: KBS makes the taper $-Taper Lite for each iron, so a 7-iron shaft is not meant to go in your 5-iron.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the $-Taper Lite weigh?

KBS lists 95 g for Regular, 100 g for Stiff and 105 g for X-Stiff.

Which flex should I choose?

KBS publishes no swing-speed range for the $-Taper Lite. Weight rises with flex, so R is the lightest and X the heaviest. Take the Iron Shaft Finder Quiz or text our team before ordering.

How is it different from the regular $-Taper?

It is about 15 to 25 g lighter (95 to 105 g against 110 to 130 g) and flies a little higher: KBS rates the Lite mid-high trajectory with low-mid spin, and the $-Taper mid trajectory with low spin.

Why is the KBS label not on my shaft?

KBS sprays its black finishes by hand, so you may see slight cosmetic differences from shaft to shaft. The official KBS label is included separately, to be put on during club assembly so it lines up the way you want. A temporary white factory SKU label may be on the shaft until then. All of this is normal for genuine KBS shafts.

Chrome or black?

Same shaft and specs in both. Pick the finish in the Weight/Flex dropdown.
