Grip Kits vs. Grip Bundles — What's the Difference?
Grip Kit
Includes everything you need to regrip from scratch — your choice of grip, double-sided grip tape, solvent, and a rubber vise clamp. No separate supply run needed.
Grip Bundle
Grips only. The right choice if you already have tape, solvent, and a clamp from a previous regrip and just need to restock your grips.
Skip the Pro Shop — Regrip at Home for a Fraction of the Cost
A pro shop charges $3–$5 per club in labor alone on top of the cost of the grip. Regripping a full set of 13 clubs yourself with one of our kits takes under an hour and costs nothing extra beyond the kit price. Once you've done it once, you'll never pay for installation again. Every kit includes the four things you need to get started:
- Golf GripYour choice of brand, model, size, and quantity
- Double-Sided Grip TapePre-cut strips sized for standard and midsize grips
- Grip SolventActivates the tape for easy installation and dries in minutes
- Rubber Vise ClampHolds your shaft securely while you slide the grip on
No experience needed. Our How to Regrip Your Golf Clubs guide walks you through the full process from start to finish — most golfers are done with a full bag in under an hour on their first attempt.
Which Grip Brand Is Right for You?
Every major grip brand has its own feel, construction, and player profile. Golf Pride is the most tour-played grip brand in the world and suits players who want a firm, consistent feel. Lamkin is known for softer, tackier feel with strong wet weather performance. Winn grips use a polymer compound that is the softest and most cushioned option in the market. JumboMax specializes in oversized grips designed to reduce grip pressure and tension through the swing. Not sure where to start? Our Golf Grip Brand Comparison guide breaks down every major brand side by side so you can find the right fit for your game. Not sure what size you need? The Grip Size Guide tells you whether standard, midsize, or oversize is right based on your hand measurements.
How & When to Regrip Your Clubs
Not sure if your grips need replacing? Our When to Regrip Your Golf Clubs guide covers how a worn grip affects your game and exactly what to look for when deciding if it's time. Once you're ready, our How to Regrip Your Golf Clubs guide walks you through the full process step by step — from removing your old grips to sliding on the new ones and letting them set. Most golfers complete a full set in under an hour on their first attempt.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many wraps of tape do I need for each grip size?
How many wraps of tape do I need for each grip size?
One wrap of double-sided tape is standard for a standard size grip. For a midsize grip, use two wraps. For an oversize grip, use three wraps. Each additional wrap of tape builds up the diameter of the grip slightly, which is how club builders adjust grip feel without ordering a different size. If you want a grip to feel slightly larger without going up a full size, adding an extra wrap is the easiest way to do it. Our Grip Size Guide covers how grip size and tape wraps work together.
Do I need any special tools or experience to regrip my own clubs?
Do I need any special tools or experience to regrip my own clubs?
No special tools and no prior experience required. The rubber vise clamp included in the kit clamps onto any standard workbench or table edge and holds your shaft securely while you slide the grip on. Most golfers complete a full set in under an hour on their first attempt. Our How to Regrip Your Golf Clubs guide walks you through every step from start to finish.
Does grip size affect feel and performance?
Does grip size affect feel and performance?
Yes — grip size has a direct impact on how the club feels in your hands and how you release through impact. A grip that is too thin encourages too much hand action through the hitting zone, which can cause hooks and inconsistent ball striking. A grip that is too thick restricts hand movement and can cause pushes and a loss of feel. Our Grip Size Guide tells you exactly which size is right for your hand measurements.
Can I regrip my clubs without a vise?
Can I regrip my clubs without a vise?
Technically yes, but it is significantly harder. Without a vise clamp to hold the shaft steady, you are left trying to hold the club with one hand while sliding the grip on with the other — which makes it nearly impossible to align the grip correctly before the solvent dries. The rubber vise clamp included in our kits clamps onto any workbench, table edge, or even a sturdy chair and makes the whole process considerably easier and more accurate. It is the one tool that makes the difference between a frustrating first attempt and a clean install.
How often should I regrip my clubs?
How often should I regrip my clubs?
The general recommendation is once per season or every 40 rounds — whichever comes first. Grips harden, lose tackiness, and wear down with use, especially in warm weather or if you play in the rain regularly. Not sure if your grips are due for a change? Our When to Regrip Your Golf Clubs guide covers how a worn grip affects your game and exactly what to look for when deciding if it's time to replace them.
What is the best way to remove an old grip without damaging the shaft?
What is the best way to remove an old grip without damaging the shaft?
The safest method is to use a hook blade or utility knife to cut through the old grip lengthwise from the butt end down toward the hosel, being careful to angle the blade away from the shaft. Once cut, the grip peels off easily. Then use a solvent-soaked cloth to dissolve and wipe away the old tape — never peel dry tape off a graphite shaft as this can pull fibers from the shaft surface. Steel shafts are more forgiving but the same method applies. Our How to Regrip Your Golf Clubs guide covers the full removal and installation process step by step.
