Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a mid flight with less spin than you have now
  • Swing from about 70 to 105+ mph (UST fits A flex from 70 mph and X flex above 105)
  • Want to change weight between the 5, 6 and 7 series and keep the same launch
  • Already play a Lin-Q PowerCore and want the same feel at a different launch

Not the right fit if you...

  • Need help getting the ball up (UST rates the Lin-Q PowerCore Red high launch)
  • Already launch it low and want it lower (the White is UST's low-launch version)
  • Swing under 70 mph (the lightest Blue is fit from 70 mph)
  • Need a TX flex (the Blue we build stops at X)

How It Plays

UST builds each Lin-Q PowerCore color on its own mandrel, with its own materials and layup, so the Red, Blue and White are different shafts rather than the same shaft in different paint. The Blue is the middle option. UST rates every Blue build mid launch and describes it as low spin.

The construction combines UST's Q-Ply carbon with a nano resin system, plus PowerCore, which UST says adds stability around the shaft and hoop stiffness during the swing. The goal is a steady, repeatable release from swing to swing.

Torque comes down as the weight goes up, from 4.3 degrees on the 5 series to 3.1 on the 7 series, so the heavier builds feel tighter through impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which flex should I pick?

UST's driver chart puts A flex at 70 to 85 mph, R at 80 to 95, S at 90 to 105 and X above 105. If you fall where two ranges overlap, contact us and we'll help you choose.

What changes between the 5, 6 and 7 series?

Weight and torque. The 5 series weighs 56 to 59 g, the 6 series 68 to 73 g and the 7 series 76 to 78 g. UST rates all of them mid launch.

How do the Lin-Q PowerCore Red, Blue and White compare?

UST rates the Red high launch, the Blue mid and the White low, and describes all three as low spin. Each color has its own build, so switching colors changes the profile, not just the look.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM-compatible adapter tip installed (Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson; see all shaft adapters) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.
