Who It's For

Good fit if you...

  • Want a mid flight with a little less spin
  • Swing your driver about 90 to 105 mph
  • Play stiff flex
  • Want a 67 or 78 g shaft

Not the right fit if you...

  • Need R, A or X flex: we build this one in S only
  • Need help getting the ball up: the M40X Red is rated mid-high launch

How It Plays

UST rates the 6 and 7 series of the TSPX Blue mid launch and describes it as a mid ball flight with mid-low spin.

Toray M40X is a high-strength, high-modulus carbon fiber. UST says it adds lateral stability through the swing so more energy reaches the ball at impact.

The 6 S weighs 67 g with 4.0 torque. The 7 S weighs 78 g with 3.0 torque.

Frequently Asked Questions

What swing speed is the TSPX Blue for?

UST's driver swing speed recommendation for S (F4) is 90 to 105 mph. We build the 6 and 7 series in S.

Should I choose the 6 or 7 series?

The 6 S (67 g, 4.0 torque) is the lighter, more active option. The 7 S (78 g, 3.0 torque) adds weight and lowers torque for a firmer feel. Both are rated mid launch.

Can this shaft be built for a fairway wood?

Yes. Select the fairway wood option and your adapter when adding to cart. Fairway builds can be cut from 38.5" to 43.5" adapter tip to grip, or built to the standard length for your head.

What's included with this assembled shaft?

The shaft arrives with your OEM-compatible adapter tip installed (Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Krank, Mizuno, Ping, PXG, Srixon, TaylorMade, Titleist, Tour Edge or Wilson; see all shaft adapters) and your chosen grip installed. Club head is not included. Just attach to your driver or fairway wood head and play. See full assembled shaft details.

Can I return an assembled shaft?

No. Each assembled shaft is built to your specs, so we can't restock it. Double-check your flex, length, grip and adapter before you order, and contact us if you'd like help confirming them.

Not sure which shaft is right for your game?

Text our shaft experts at (818) 473-9086 before you order. We've been fitting golfers since 1991 and are happy to talk through your swing speed, current shaft, and what you're trying to fix.

Questions & Answers

Have a Question?

Ask a Question
  • How do I choose between the blue, white, and red Lin-Q?

The difference comes down to launch and feel:

    • Blue: mid launch, mid spin — most balanced option
    • White: low launch, low spin — best for faster, aggressive swings
    • Red: high launch, more spin — helps get the ball in the air

  • How does the UST Lin-q M40X blue shaft compare to the Proforce V2? I've played the V2 for years, and very consistent. Tempted to SEE if the Lin-q would be an upgrade, or just different..... Quite a bit higher in cost for the Lin-q

    Hi Todd,

That's a fantastic question, and it's smart to compare shafts, especially when you've found such consistency with the Proforce V2! You're right, the UST Mamiya Lin-Q M40X Blue comes in at a higher price point, so it's worth understanding the potential differences.

Here's a comparison to help you decide if the Lin-Q M40X Blue might be an "upgrade" or just a "different" feel/performance for your TaylorMade Qi10:

UST Mamiya Proforce V2 (Your Current Shaft):

    • Launch/Spin: Generally designed for a mid-launch and low-to-mid spin with a penetrating ball flight. It's known for its stability due to a stiff tip section.

    • Feel: Often described as a firmer, more বোর্ডy feel, offering excellent control for aggressive swings.

    • Kick Point: Typically a mid-kick point.

    • Technology: Relies on its proven design for stability and energy transfer.

    UST Mamiya Lin-Q M40X Blue:

    • Launch/Spin: Designed for a mid-launch and low spin. This is quite similar to the V2's stated launch/spin profile.

    • Feel: This is where you'll likely notice a significant difference. The Lin-Q M40X Blue incorporates revolutionary M40X carbon fiber material, especially in the tip section, along with proprietary nano-technology. This aims to provide increased strength and significantly improved lateral stability while also delivering a phenomenal, smoother feel and eliminating the "boardy" sensation often associated with stiffer-tipped shafts.

    • Kick Point: Generally categorized as having a mid-kick point, similar to the V2.

    • Technology: The M40X material is a key differentiator, offering a 30% improvement in tensile strength over conventional carbon fiber, leading to more efficient energy transfer and stability. It's built with more advanced materials and manufacturing processes.

    • Torque: Depending on the specific flex and weight, the Lin-Q M40X Blue can have a slightly higher torque value (e.g., around 4.8° for a 6F4 Stiff) compared to some V2 models (which can be around 3.0° to 3.9°). Higher torque can sometimes translate to more "feel" for the golfer.

    Upgrade vs. Different:

Given your description of the V2 as "very consistent," the Lin-Q M40X Blue would likely be an upgrade in terms of feel and stability due to the advanced materials and construction. The target launch and spin profiles are quite similar (mid-launch, low spin).

    • If you love the V2's consistency but want a slightly smoother, more refined feel, or even more stability at impact (especially if you have a shallower swing or tend to get steep), the Lin-Q M40X Blue could be an excellent upgrade.

    • If you're perfectly happy with the V2's feel and performance and aren't seeking any changes, then the Lin-Q M40X Blue might simply be a "different" shaft without a noticeable performance upgrade that justifies the cost for your specific swing.

Ultimately, the best way to "SEE if it's an upgrade" is through trying it out, ideally with a launch monitor to compare your numbers (launch, spin, ball speed) to your current V2.

We hope this comparison helps you make an informed decision!
