Mitsubishi Chemical introduces a new Diamana™ Thump™ Hybrid shaft. Diamana™ Thump™ Hybrid is designed for the stronger player who wants the accuracy, stability and weight of steel shafts, but is also looking for enhanced feel and distance. The Diamana™ Thump™ Hybrid is the ideal shaft for utility club weight and dispersion. Extremely low torque coupled with a mid-high kick point produce stable, lower, ballistic like trajectory preferred by the professional level player.

I prefer a heavier, more controlled feel, would the Diamana Thump hybrid work for me?
If you like a heavier, more controlled feel then yeah, the Thump was pretty much built with you in mind. It's designed for players who want the stability and weight of a steel shaft but still want the feel benefits of graphite, coming in around 90 to 100g with extremely low torque, closer to what you'd see in a lightweight steel. What that means on the course is very little twisting through impact, tight dispersion, and a planted feel through the ball. One thing worth knowing upfront though — it's a low to mid launch shaft with a high kick point, so it keeps the flight penetrating rather than high and soft. If you already get the ball up easily and just want more control, it's a great fit. If you tend to struggle with launch, it might work against you a bit.
